My birthday dinner with friends arranged at Pôr do Sol, a firm favourite of mine. Pre-booked for our party of four. Apperitifs served whilst making menu selection. Starters of melon with port and smoked salmon followed by seafood cream bisque soup, the best in Algarve...and not to be missed! Steaks and prawn omelette mains to follow. Chocolate cake to dessert and coffee to follow. Lovely white and red wine selection throughout. Very friendly, efficient and professional service throughout as has always been the case in the past. Reasonably priced for the food and service on offer. We will return again in the future for sure.More

We weren't sure about this restaurant when we first arrived because it is situated next to a shopping center, but, once we were seated it was fine. The food was delicious as was the wine and we were happy that it was part of the...tour we were on. Everyone enjoyed the evening. Staff/service was friendly and efficient, too!More

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. We’ve been coming here for years. The staff are extremely accommodating and helpful. The food is superb. The menu is pleasingly familiar, high quality produce and perfectly cooked. These are the best steaks we’ve EVER eaten. When in...the Algarve we eat a lot of fish however, here we always have the steaks. Snr Candido and Snr Rui are the perfect hosts. Always ready with a joke and you can’t fault the service When was the last time you had a flambé? If you go, you simply must have one just for the spectacle. Tip: eat inside as the flambé trolley doesn’t venture outside.More

From the moment we walked in to the moment we walked out it was very enjoyable. Smoked Salmon starter with capers and tiny sweet pickled onions,Fillet steak which you could probably cut with a spoon a love a fried egg with my steak to which...the waiters had some fun at my expense great, Chocolate moose beautiful desert and superb red wine. We had been recommended this restaurant and particularly to try the rack of lamb. The restaurant was busy but we were looked after by a small and extremely hard working team of waiters who were very jolly and efficient. The lamb was delicious and we...had an extremely pleasant evening.More

We were welcomed extremely friendly at the restaurant and seated at a nice table in the open area. Service was quick and very helpfull with questions to the menue. We ordered oysters and the house pate as a starter and the Chateaubriand for main. Except...that for the pate a little bit of Cumberland or else was missing, everything was fine and the meat perfectly done and of good quality. For desert we hat the Crepes Suzette, which was flambeed to perfection. The price including wine and water was 120 Euro, which is more than adequate for the quality and the perfect service. As we now live close to the restaurant, we are looking forward to many more nice special dinnersMore

A beautiful restaurant with very friendly staff in a beautiful setting. During our stay in the Algarve we visited the restaurant twice as it became our favorite spot. We cant wait to have these amazing shrimps and crepes again.More

A Fantastic experience, the complete package. Better service than we received anywhere else all holiday. Attentive and helpful waiters, nothing is too much trouble, they are experienced and professional. The food is superb. We had a table for 9 people, 4 adults and 5 children....All enjoyed meals very much! Highly recommended the Portuguese style steak. Very unfriendly, made us wait for our table for a long time, even though there were many free tables. Only when we asked how long we'd have to wait did we get a table. We think this may have been because we changed our reservation...to half an hour later, which they said on the phone was fine. So disappointed, as we ate at Por do Sol very often 6 years ago, and had really looked forward to it. General customer service was very poor, not like we remembered at all. Unfortunately will not be going there again.More

Slightly out of Alvor centre, this was a recommendation by family and was amazing. Excellent food, good wine choice, friendly service and a fair price. The three course meal was very affordable given the quality.
