Dinner was delicious...monkfish and prawn curry and chicken piri piri followed by fig cheesecake ...lovely ambience and lady who welcomed us was very friendly and pleasant

Dinner for 6 here last night -and the food was superb, Salmon, Tuna & chicken Piri piri all cooked to perfection. The vegetables were crisp and fresh and full of flavour. The restaurant, built into what is reputed to be one of the oldest houses...in Alvor, is very traditional and always busy . The staff are attentive and friendly and seem to care very much that you enjoy the food….. highly recommended!More

I had dinner here tonight with my partner. We had been here about 10 years ago and I remembered I loved the meal at that time. I went for monkfish and prawn curry again tonight, still as excellent as I remembered it. Wonderful! My partner...had Portuguese Style Beef Steak which also had great flavour but the beef was a bit tough. We had a half bottle of red and a half bottle of white wine with our meal, which were reasonably priced. Service was professional and very attentive and all the staff were very friendly. We received a complimentary glass of Port to round off the meal.More

The food is gorgeous and the cataplana a favourite. We will always dine here when in Alvor. Staff are lovely and always make you feel welcome.

Tony who owns the Snack Bar in Alvor recommended his sister's restaurant as we'd asked where she goes for fish. I had filleted sea bass and my wife had the monk fish kebab. Both superb. Fresh vegetables, all nicely cooked & presented. Down a little...side street but worth finding as you'll save a good few euros compared to the prices charged down by the harbour. It’s been nearly 3 years since we were able to eat here due to Covid but like normal always our first meal in Alvor Not disappointed my wife had the Portuguese Steak and I had the Peri Peri Chicken both lovely as always. Service was...excellent and friendly; we asked about the 5 Quinas and Isabel convince us to go to the beach and see for ourselves. We will be back on our first night next year.More

Fabulous food and service. Best Portuguese Steak in Alvor as are the Piri Piri prawns. Lovely restaurant run by lovely people.

Food was good service excellent, my husband ordered salmon and I ordered chicken in pepper sauce both were beautiful but I got two tiny slices of chicken it wouldnt fill a child , I was still hungry and this should not happen I had starter..., I normally have one course in. Restaurant , the amount of chicken wouldn't have made a sandwich , will learn a lesson ask for sauce on the side , the salmon was a big portion and beautiful , service very good , one of the nicest meals In alvor pity about portion size .More

Fantastic Cataplana! Good service with really nice waitress speaking good English. Food served Boiling and good quality. Enormous portion for 1 and incredibly good quality-price ratio

I had the good fortune to dine here last night after a long gap since the last time. Everything and everyone were first class. The service was excellent giving you time to choose. All at our table said the food they had was very nice...and also not that expensive. Would definitely recommend. And plenty of space between tablesMore

We have been eating in Alvor for over 15 years and have visited this restaurant a few years ago so thought we'd book for a meal. We were greeted and seated, then waited...and waited while the waitress chatted to customers. Finally we ordered some drinks...and our food. Our starter came fairly timely, then again we sat and waited. We asked the waitress how long would it be as we had been sat for a long time, nearly an hour. She said she would check and came back to say it was just being started.5 minutes later my food was rushed out to me. then we sat...and waited for my husbands food to arrive for another 5 minutes. I was extremely underwhelmed by the appearance of my food. It had clearly been rushed and thrown onto the plate. The boiled potatoes and vegetables were dry and bland. The whole thing had no seasoning at all. The squid was only just cooked but weirdly burnt in places, not the char grilled loveliness I usually get in Alvor. My husbands curry was just as tasteless. His rice was undercooked, hard and had a funny taste to it. We didn't finish our meal and in fairness were not charged for the main courses. We won't be going back.More

Always eat here when we visit Alvor. The food as always was great, the staff are friendly and accommodating. Can be fully booked as it is very popular, so book ahead if you can.
