Bit of a story as to how we found this restaurant, but the local recommendation couldn't be faulted and we came back for a second visit it was so good. It's all been written before, but it is the true taste of Tuscany and Stefano and team are the perfect hosts and produce quality food washed down with their own... More

This is one of the most authentic Tuscan kitchens you will find. Too many others in this area seem to be recreating Tuscan cuisine for tourists. La Locanda Cuccuini serves dishes in the style that locals have been enjoying for decades. We have never been disappointed.

Stefano and Anne Marie are most excellent hosts, and the place is absolutely charming! Stefano is a fantastic cook, a charismatic story teller and philosopher, and a true embodiment of the beauty of authentic Tuscan living and culture...and he produces some top notch wine too! We were made to feel extraordinarily welcome here and wouldn't think of staying anywhere else... More

I went here with a group of eight. The others thought the food was good but not great. Personally I really liked the Pasta alla Scoglio (seafood) and the fresh Tuna that I ordered. Certainly worth a visit but don't expect te be blown away. We heard the closeby Osteria de Montegozzi does exactly that (but it was closed on... More

We came across La Locanda by accident and were a bit unsure when we asked Stefano where we could eat that night. He reassured us and said "I will cook". Dinner was preceded by interesting conversation and local gossip and Stefano's desire to start a revolution against the tourist tax that has just been introduced. Stefano's own wine flowed and... Due to unforeseen circumstances, our originally booked B&B had to relocate us to another, being La Locanda Cuccuini. Everything written in the other reviews is true. Great location, nice rooms, and splendid host. Although we only stayed for 2 nights, this was more than enough time to make up our minds that we will surely come back here some time.... More

We stayed at la Locanda last year, at end August, for 3 nights (half board). Rooms were quite big, and nicely decorated (tiles are in real, warm, beautiful Cotto Fiorentino), even if no clim (could be tough in the hottest days, but when we went, it was not really hot.) But apart from the rooms, the sightseeing, what we will... More

We stayed at Locanda based on a friends recommendation. When we arrived, Stefano, the owner, greeted us with some wine and lively conversation, long before we checked in. The rooms are in a different building away from the office and dining area. Our windows opened up to a great view of the Tuscan countryside, and of Stefano's 88 year old... More
