We passed by this restaurant and thought we would try it for lunch. They do a daily set menu but apparently that had sold out. As seems to be the case in Austria, friendly service is very hard to come by. As soon as we...sat down we were asked what we wanted to drink. I said I would have a look at the menu as I didn't know what I fancied yet. I was then told that drinks aren't on the menu! I had a few questions about the menu which seemed to really surprise the staff and they didn't know how to answer them. I ended up ordering the "loose chicken" which was like a schnitzel just not flattened. It was delicious and the potato salad was great too. Service was very efficient. We arrived with two starving kids. They received the food quite fast and they enjoyed it very much. We also had the mushroom soup that was very good.

As a group, we tried a lot of different meals from the menu. It showed up that pizza is barely eatable, while other, more priced dishes were excellent. Staff is friendly, service was relatively quick.

Went with wife and 3 kids. The place is nice, big wooden tables that I like, although it was a bit too big, we couldn’t reach over to the other side. The service was ok, and the food arrived relatively quickly. We had: beef soup...with liver dumpling (OK), cordon bleu (good), mixed grill (OK), short grilled roast sirloin (excellent), and the pizza margarita (the kids ate but was not very good). We stopped here based on a recommendation from the hostess at our guesthouse. We were tired from traveling and looking for a low key spot. This was the place! We were able to sit outside and enjoy the wonderful weather. The menu was diverse, with...good vegetarian options. Service was quick, helpful and attentive and willing to recommend dishes (and the bast place for a post meal gelato!). The food was very good and portion sizes were just right.More

Stopped here for lunch on our way into Munich. Food was great, portions were large and the food came out in a timely manner.

This lovely place in the middle of the town of Hallein has a calm atmosphere, offers excellent food, large portions and everything for very reasonable price. If your'e around, hungry, this is the right place for you. We had carpacio, ceasar salad, Wiener schnitzel, burgers...and spinach pizza for our veggy son. Everything was perfect. Don't miss.More
