Tasty food and reliably open every night

Our family was staying in Calibishe but we explored the surrounding area during the day. At the end of the day, we enjoy a sit down dinner meal but often found it difficult to find a restaurant open in the evening for dinner around the villages where we visited. However Unique Sea View was always open (even on Sunday and holiday) and offered very tasty dishes. We went back to Unqiue Seaview a fair bit for those reasons. We tried their mahi mahi casserole which offered a very unique dish in a white wine sauce that hinted in perhaps starfruit juice and herbs. We also had their lionel fish that was in a very light and fluffy batter where you can tasty the white lightness of the fish. Another night we had their octopus salad and it was a very refreshing and light salad. The octopus was done just right (not rubbery or chewy) and soft. Their Jamaican chicken was also very flavorful (and not spicy) and had a small sweet undertone to it. Served with rice and the addictive banana peze, it's definitely a dish worth trying out. The food speaks for itself the service was prompt. The seafood dishes on the menu is dependent on the fishermen's catch, so be sure to ask what they have. We were craving octopus and finally on the 3rd day the octopus arrived and it was worth the wait!

Tasty food and charming chef/proprietor

Had dinner with friends last week and was pleasantly surprised at how tasty and well presented the food was. The curried chicken and the lionfish were very good and served with plenty of sides on the plate. The lobster was not over cooked, as they sometimes are, and served on a banana leaf that was nearly as long as the table. The chef/proprietor Micheal, aka the musician Jahcall, used to cook at Rainbow Restaurant so we were happy to see him at Unique.

Delicious food and great service

We had a great meal here. While there are no vegetarian entrees on the menu, they were very willing to accommodate us and made us an amazing platter of vegetarian delights. They even brought us plantain nectar to try and a fresh mango for dessert. We’re very happy to have found this place. Very friendly service and very good food!

The best restaurant in Calibishie Dominica

We stay in Calibishie for one week during the Carnival 2023. We eat at the Unique View Restaurant. Believe me or not it is the place to be if you want to eat the delicious Caribbean foods The Chief manager is Mikael. He is also the cooker. Ask him to cook the fish. He cook the Lion fish the mahi mahi The red snapper and also the lobster. It is the only place where I eat my food on a banana leaf. There are also the very good small KUBULI beer 🍺. In my own humble opinion it is a very good restaurant. You can go to the Unique View. It is open until midnight. It is a very safe place .Just smile and say Hello to all these very nice People. Mickael belong to the Light people. Very rare on the Earth today.

Very good local restaurant

Nice restaurant with a great view on the ocean and on the isles of Guadeloupe. We got a very warm welcoming and great food (chicken curry and chicken terriyaki, bananes pesées, accras...). The cook loves to share his food which is French créole and fusion cuisine. Not very expensive and good vibes !

Best dinner on Dominica

We visited various locations all around Dominica during our 6-week trip. Unique Seafood Restaurant was by far our very best meal. We enjoyed meeting the chef and he explained the meal he’d prepared for us.

Best in Calibishie

Wonderful Calibishie restaurant with fresh ingredients, friendly staff, and consistently great food and atmosphere. We’ve tried the snapper, red fish, jerk chicken, and pineapple chicken. All delicious! The bush rums are also unique and tasty. Chef Michael is doing an excellent job with this restaurant.

Greatly Overcharged

We asked the price of bush rum and then were charged 4 times the quoted price. Bait and switch. Beware of being taken advantage of at this establishment. Would recommend taking your business elsewhere in Calibishe. Bad experience.

Get local vibes in combination with the best food

Wonderful restaurant right by the sea. There is also a small terrace with palm trees and sand for an aperitif. The food is very good and there are also great vegan dishes on request. Highly recommended.

A great place with a very good food and service

I had my birthday dinner here and the chef made the whole experience very special for us. We had the lobster and it was really good. We were here the day before as well. We then had the curry chicken and the lion fish. Both were really delicious. We can absolutely recommend this place with a beautiful view of the see.

Delicious lunch with a beautiful view

My family ate here on a recent stay in Calibishe on Dominica. We saw an interesting menu outside and thought we would try it for lunch. We had an awesome time. We loved the ocean view and the food was delicious. We especially loved the chicken curry, but everything was great. I would definitely go back if I was visiting again and would recommend others to try it as well.

A must try restaurant

Amazing! Food was so good and atmosphere is great and friendly! We went to a few different highly rated spots on the island and this was our favorite by far. We called ahead and they found us the biggest lobster we have ever had. One of our favorite places we've been.

Wonderful places, the meal was excellent and original. The view of Marie galante and the sea is perfect. Finally a warm and friendly welcome, a restaurateur who is worth the trip in his own right. Thanks again for this meal.

Caribbean food with sea view

We ended up here by chance on our island tour. It looks unremarkable from the outside, but there is a lovely terrace facing the sea and a wonderful view of the sea. The food completely surprised us. Very finely prepared and seasoned. We were very impressed by the presentation with the huge leaf. There were four of us and everyone enjoyed it.
