This café was just by the station and a bit quirky as it housed a bookshop as well. It was comforting to know that the profits went towards a fisherman's charity. The portions of fish and chips were generous and arrived promptly. The price was...More

Popped in before getting the train back to Dumbarton Central. Staff were very helpful and friendly, I was running short of power on my old phone and they kindly let me charge it up for my return 5 hour trip back to my hotel. Delicious...More

Thank you for your kind review, all of our baking is homemade and I must say the lemon drizzle is very popular. We hope to see you again. Thank you.

Best fish ‘n’ chips I have had for a long time. Crispy batter and melt in your mouth fish. beautifully cooked chips, juicy peas and a generous helping of tartare sauce

Thank you very much for your kind review. We are glad you enjoyed your fish and chips. Everything is cooked fresh to order and the tartare sauce is made in house. We hope to see you again. Thank you.

Strange place overall and £4.70 for scrambled egg really is overpriced madness. Staff not too welcoming either. Shame after the other reviews leftMore

Thank you for taking the time to review our cafe. I am sorry you found our scrambled eggs on toast to be overpriced. Our prices are clearly stated on the menu, if you believed this to be too much you need not have stayed and...More

Excellent service, lovely friendly staff and delicious warming food on a cold wet October. Well worth the road trip.

This is not a top notch restaurant but it is a great value eating place. Great pub food style place but not a pub. The food is always enjoyable and the staff are only too happy to help you. The food is nicely cooked and...More

Sadly we found this cafe right at the end of our visit when we'd already eaten so we just popped in for a cuppa. This may seem like a strange comment but bear with me... As a person who chooses not to engage with religion...More

Called in for lunch after recommendation by a local. Had the haddock and chips with home made tartar sauce. The fish was the best I have tasted with lovely light batter. The tartar sauce was beautiful and creamy, nothing like the stuff that comes in...More

Friendly service and good value for money. Nice scones and generous size mugs of coffee. Soup and a roll is very reasonably priced. Be sure to check out the bookshop as you are sure to find a treasure or two

Coffee was nice. Prawn sandwich wasn’t worth £6. The prawns were nice but very little sauce and the bread was crappy. Wife wasn’t impressed by the lemon drizzle cake either.

Hi, Doune Castle is near Stirling, probably about a 3 or 4 hour drive from us. It really depends on what you want to do while you are there how long you will need. Thanks Rick Schabeck
