We ordered two fish and chips and had them on a bench by the harbour. It was fine as it usually is at Mallaig's places.

Stopped for lunch. Clean and bright, friendly service. Surprised that only filter coffee was on offer and my wife's hot chocolate appeared to have been made with just hot water. Friend's burger was uninspiring. I chose the fish chowder which, although there was nothing wrong with it, did not deserve the £10+ price tag. Personally I think this place would... More

Smallest potions and worst tasting fish and chips ever found - I even double checked our bill for the takeaway fish and chips The fish was minute, preformed and as thick as slice of bread with no taste - no matter how much salt and vinegar It was a good job there was a Coop next door to take the... I find this a bit strange, if the fish was so disgusting why not bring it back, also takes 5 month for you to write a ridiculous review, very strange More

We ate here on our stopover after riding ScotRail. Most of the other restaurants were crowded with Jacobite Rail folks. Our food was warm and very good, and the staff were very nice and attentive. We had fish and chips.

We travelled to Mallaig on the Jacobite steam train and had the hour and half or so to eat and have a little look around. The restaurant was simple but food was good.

Paid Harddock for GBP8.50 with some chips. For such a simple deep fried dish, it is very expensive. It came with 2 small packd of salt, a vinegar and lemon cut.

The price of haddock is not cheap, especially at this time of year when haddock is scarce, £8.50 is very good price for haddock & chips and the amount you get, you should maybe have checked the price before buying the meal there is cheaper options, you obviously want haddock & chips for nothing. The other dishes are much cheaper. I had a Cullen Skink, nice and a good portion. The seafood platter my wife enjoyed was priced like a main dish at a restaurant. It was well worth the GBP17. Plenty of fresh seafood she could barely manage. Very friendly and quick service.

We popped in for lunch and were offered a seat overlooking the harbour. Being out of season, there was only one girl serving but she coped well enough, There is a sign up saying that all meals are cooked fresh to order so expect a small wait but that is fine for fresh food. Our drinks arrived quickly (alcoholic drinks... More

Called in for a bite of lunch (had arrived on the train from Fort William so had a few hours to pass) plenty of available tables and warm friendly staff. Knowing what the quality seafood is like from the West Coast of Scotland , I plumped for the Mallaig Haddock. To say I was slightly underwhelmed wouldn't be far off... More

Though a bit pricey, we had an excellent seafood lunch after arriving on the Jacobite steam train. The specials of the day included scallops and a clam chowder. I tried the Cullen Skink which was creamy and flavorful. It's a small restaurant so seating is limited, but it was great on a beautiful sunny day.
