It was quite an interesting talk listening to the sommelier talk about how they make the wine, but the wine was really bad! The sparkling wine was drinkable but at £30 a bottle I'd rather go for some Nyetimber, the white was okish but the red was like £3 supermarket wine and if I remember rightly was going for £12... Overnight stay with dinner bed & breakfast and vineyard tour. Tour was was very informative, hard to believe vines can be grown outside in the north of England which produce red, white, rose and sparkling wines. Accommodation was clean bright and modern with access to a spa/jacuzzi. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent in the onsite restaurant. All food is... More

This establishment does not come under the value for money banner for the type of food on offer. Decent enough quality but not quite enough to command a higher than average price tag despite efforts to justify it on the plate presentation. The kitchen desperately needs some form of efficient air extraction as the whole restaurant had a noticeable background... More

Had breakfast as part of the vineyard tour. Well met on arrival. Pleasant front of house. Breakfast menu choice is reasonable. Full breakfast consists of Egg, bacon, sausage, black pudding, mushrooms, hash browns, grilled tomato and beans. You have a choice of a large breakfast (two of everything) or small (one of everything) which I think is a good idea. There... More

We had not booked but arrived on a beautifully hot late summers day for lunch. The location is a real delight and the building imaginatively designed. We were seated along a narrow balcony overlooking the vineyard with a staggeringly beautiful panoramic view. Sadly that's were the magic faded somewhat. The service was a little slow and the waitress glum. we... More

We received a gift voucher for the vineyard and living locally were intrigued as to what we would find. The setting was beautiful despite being a wet and miserable day. The inside of the restaurant was very modern with brilliant views of the vineyards and holme moss. The service was quite cold and blunt, with the waitress not knowing the... More

Dropped in for a wine tour on our way home, and what a treat! Fabulous facility. A wine tour and tasting, fascinating too! Lunch in the restaurant , the food was truly beautiful. They even have accommodation! Do yourself a favour, try it out, you won't regret it. And buy the wine too to take home, great to support a... More

We booked the vineyard tour including two course lunch on a Sunday. The 'tour' comprises a talk in the middle of the relatively small vineyard following by a tasting in the winery/production area. The talk was very interesting and entertaining and covered the history of the site and the vines planted etc. Given the climate in the north of the... More
