The service offered by John and Darryl was superb with food and drinks served in a timely manner. They even took a little time out to chat. All of the food was exceptional. Well cooked, well presented and very tasty. The portion sizes are very...generous but we managed to complete the meal - just! This place is so good, I would probably dine in The Black Swan at Leyburn every week if I lived locally!More

Wow! What an amazing visit to this gorgeous little place. A lovely welcome and service from John. Some of the best food we have ever been served. Highly recommend the steak pie, best pie we have ever had! Would definitely recommend and we will be...back, thank you!More

Having visited here back in August and had the best fish and chips I've ever had, when we were next in the area, this was the obvious choice for our meal. Once again the standard of food was extremely high and the service was equally...as good. Nothing was too much trouble for John and Darrell who were very friendly and accommodating. Would certainly recommend this place.More

We were welcomed at the door by John who was really friendly and made us feel welcome straight away. Victor took our order and again I can not fault his service and how friendly he was. The food was on another level, I had the...pork madallion and the flavour was out of this world. I really didn’t want this dish to end. I can not wait to come back again.More

Heard good things about the dinners here so decided to give it a try. I am very fussy when it comes to Sunday lunch as I enjoy making my own so not many other places can actually beat your own. This chef whoever he or...she is nailed every aspect. Cauliflower cheese, rosaties, beef, veg, mash, parsnips, Yorkshire puddings, extra gravy etc, everything done to perfection and full of flavour. Look at the bacon wrapped stuffing too! Pictures speak for themselves. We'll be back. John served our table who was very happy cheery and had great service, always think the staff are as much a big part of the meal as the food. Didn't get served by the other man on duty but he had excellent customer service too from overhearing him. I always find this pub whenever I eat here or go extremely quick to serve, very chatty and its impeccably clean. The toilets are immaculate and they have great covid stipulations without coming across tense as some pubs during covid can be a bit hostile over it. Thanks guys.More

Daryl was at the door to welcome us. He was very friendly from the outset and gave a great first impression. He showed us to our table. The restaurant felt very warm in terms of ambience and the tables were a good space apart. The...lunch menu was small enough not to be overwhelming but provided a decent and interesting choice. I had prawn and mussel ragu and my son had fish and chips. The ragu was a starter, however there was so much I couldn't quite finish it. The seafood tasted wonderfully fresh and the fish white and fluffy. The chips were home cooked and had home-made tartare and curry sauce as accompaniments. Darryl made sure we had all we wanted without crowding us and his banter comes free! Well worth a visit - excellent food.More

Called in this evening for food. Carrot and Cumin home made soup was divine. Followed by a 28 day aged Sirloin Steak. With plenty of chips and trimmings. Was absolutely gorgeous. Sadly didn’t take a picture of the steak half way through to show what...an excellent cut it was. Finished off with the Toffee Sticky Pudding. What a lovely way to spend Saturday evening. The staff were all so attentive and friendly. Will definitely be back to see their smiling faces, even through such tough times. Well done to everyone at the Black Swan 😃More
