Stopped here for a quick lunch. It's a charming place. There was an acoustic trio playing, the staff were friendly. It's a little shabby, but that is part of the rustic feel. The food was above average.

Serving local produce in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere and making it look easy is an art, if you want to know how to do it, visit the oystercatcher. I would like to tell you about the great fisherman's breakfast but then you would fill the tables there wouldn't be room for me.
We went for Saturday breakfast & wont be going back in a hurry. The poached eggs were over done & one side of the toast was burnt black! Other patrons were complaining about over done eggs too.
Hi Deborah Sorry you didn't enjoy your Breakfast at the Oystercatchers. It is under new ownership now since March 15th. When you are next passing do give us another go, I am sure you would be pleasantly surprised. Thank you. More
Where nowadays can you visit a cafe and feel you want to stay all day ? That serves great home cooked food at reasonable prices ? That has great welcoming friendly staff ? I love this cafe. It's much more than a place to eat - more like a hub of social and cultural goings on in Teignmouth. It's a place you can feel comfortable going in alone for a cuppa and huge lump of cake, in a gang for a tasty and good value meal, or with the family and dog for... More
Visited with friends , made feel welcome from the moment we opened the front door , great service and food, would highly recommend this place to locals and anyone visiting Teignmouth , you won't find better or anywhere as friendly as Oystercatchers ...thanks guys we will be back .
We have visited this cafe on several occasions and have always had a warm and friendly welcome. The atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable. There is always a smile from the staff and nothing is too much trouble. Most importantly the food is excellent with a good selection.
