We had booked at Kota on a cold Friday night in early December. It was busy - at least for west Cornwall, well out-of-season. The three-course, set meal at £25.00 was excellent in quality and value. The chowder starter and the hake main course with...More

We had seen Kota on an earlier visit to Porthleven, but it was closed for the winter. This time we made sure we would be able to dine at Kota! Booking online was easy, the welcome was great, the service attentive without being intrusive and...More

Painfully Average. Never before have we been so resolute in not returning to a venue as a result of second-thought service slowly followed by underwhelming food. Even under the guise of fine dining, the time taken to acknowledge our order and be served was excessive...More

Very welcoming, great menu, decent choice of beer, lots of wine to choose from, nice atmosphere, but it's all about the food really which was exceptional. Well informed staff too. Prices roughly £50 ph including drinks Recommended

Having been to Kota Kai several times (and loving it!), we thought we'd try the more fine dining Kota. Service was fantastic and the meal was lovely, but it lacked the 'wow' factor we were expecting. I had the dory with prawn bisque, which was...More

Having seen the menu last year and been disappointed with Rick Stein's menu lacking local fish we booked online from home for our holiday in Cornwall in 2017. The exchange of emails was first class and one or two questions answered. We arrived a little...More
