Fun, festive and friendly. This bar is attached to the Moorings Guest House. It is just across the road from the Portmagee harbor and the charter boats for Skellig Michael. Food was great, especially the soups . The staff went out of their way to...More

We had a late lunch at The Bridge Bar before driving around Valentia Island. Not too many people in the bar, so service was really prompt. Good serving size of crumbed fish, coleslaw, mushy peas and chips. Reasonably priced; nice atmosphere. Parking would be a...More

As this was the only place in town open we didn't really have a choice on where to eat. However, that being said, the meal was still very good and I am glad it was the only place open. Both dishes were well prepared and...More

Except for all the Star Wars memorabilia and the Japanese TV crew interviewing the owner, this would simply be a terrific local pub filled with happy customers. The mussels fresh from the Atlantic Ocean were the best I had in Ireland. Connected to The Moorings...More

The staff was friendly and nice. The food was good. My seafood chowder was very tasty and my sandwich was also good.

The bar tenders are friendly and there is ample seating for moderate sized parties. The seafood is especially tasty with ample portions.

I stayed in Portmagee for three days after the busy season trying to get passage to the Skelligs. It's one of the only bars and restaurants in town. I ate breakfast here in the morning which was empty and quiet, and dinner with drinks which...More

We visited here and stayed in PortMagee the night before we did Skellig Michael. It's one of the few options in the area, but it really was some of the better pub food we've had. I had grilled hake, and it was so so good....More

Stopped through Portmagee while doing the Ring of Kerry. Lunch time (11:30) so we went into The Bridge bar. Restaurant was empty. No patrons. Waiter informed us that he would not seat us in the restaurant because they were expecting a tour bus in 15/20...More

Good place to stop for Lunch. Lots of parking across the road. We had a Sea Food Platter to share which was very good. Prompt friendly service.

The Bridge Bar at The Moorings, Portmagee is open all year round. Great food served all day with traditional music at weekends. Trips to Skellig Michael can be arranged and packages are available from April to September. Cois Cuain gift shop is open from March to January. The Moorings is located in a fishing village with a working harbour, post office, general store, coffee shop, bar, restaurant overlooking Valentia Island. There's nothing more endearing than knowing that some of the Hollywood's biggest movie stars like Mark Hamill and Director J.J Abrams have visited the sleepy village of Portmagee, and even sat in the Bridge Bar local pub where Mark Hamill poured a pint of Guinness behind the bar. The Moorings was home to the pre-production team of the Star Wars VII movie and you can visit the room where all the magic took place and listen to the stories told by the staff.
