Very good Costa Rican ‘soda’ (diner). The casado plate with fish, rice, beans, green salad and beet salad was excellent. The fish was lightly fried and tasted fresh. The helping of food was generous, as is the case in all of the Costa Rican sodas we’ve experienced. The owner (Gerard) was personable and friendly. Soda Kem Vari fronts the main... More

Just went once and tried the burguer after many days eating casados. Not so good, but i suppose it's difficult to find a good burger in Costa Rica.

We have stopped in for lunch several times now and have never been disappointed. The family that owns and runs this restaurant are on top of their game. The food is great, the service is great and the prices are very reasonable. They take great pride in the product that they serve.

After eating bad food all over Costa Rica (sorry but the food there is not the best in the world) We finally found a simple restaurant with tipical C. Rica food. We were so happy to have a decent food. Look for Gerardo, The owner

Kem-Vari is located off the highway just south of Uvita. It's a Tico restaurant that is popular with the expat crowd. It has good Costa Rican and some American food. The family that runs the restaurant speaks a bit of English and are friendly. In the restaurant is a small but well stocked mini-super (good for picking up a few... More

I discovered Kim Vari's many yrs ago. It's a great local Tico restaurant. Open air seating right off the coastal Hwy. I love their Chicken burritos that is accompanied with a beautiful fresh salad. It's usually more then I can eat. Their whole fried fish (red snapper) is also the best I have had in Costa Rica. Their Casados are... More

I have been to this soda many times...why? Because it is a small family run roadside restaurant that is fresh, tasty and reliable. My usual order is the chicken casada (daily plate with rice, beans, vegetable, chicken and a small salad) for under $6.00! Their quesadillas and burritos are also really yummy. While in Uvita, make sure to stop in... More

Great places for burrittos and reasonably priced for the quality but higher than most smaller sodas if your used to dining in cheap sodas. Off the international highway between uvita and ojochal. Can get dinner for 4 under$ 30 and good selection for kids to choose from if you have a picky child. They also served traditional tican food and... More
