Go there and order the coconut crusted fish and mango chutney with vegetables and rice. You won't regret it =) You may want to pass by and order it in advance to avoid long waiting times ;)

There's no other way to put it - Kim's food was truly scrumptious! We had met Kim briefly before our visit as he was the manager of the villa we were staying in so he prepared us something special off the menu meaning I can unfortunately not recommend a particular dish. However, I do know the plate he served us... More

Just a short walk along the beach from the Blue Oyster Hotel there is a track into the village. We booked our table in the afternoon, finding no one around but someone came to take a message and we left our order. it was a quiet time of year and at the end of the season. On returning for our... We tried a few other restaurants before the Kim's and it was the best for sure! The food was hot, we had good portions and the staff was very nice (We took the fish with lemon and garlic and the baby octopus)! Also the Kim's has quite a nice atmosphere. Would recommend it to everybody who wants to eat traditional... More

Kim is a nice guy. The food he prepares tastes really good. It's a local place in Jambiani, where you feel welcome. Jamaica style.

Read about restaurant in Bradt guide so gave it a try. Very frienly family run it. Spotted coconut juice on drink menu so waiter was despatched straight up coconut palm outside restaurant and 2 coconuts cut and served straight from tree. Had lovely fish samosas to start and coconut crusted fish for main. Alright we waited a bit but it... More

Kims restaurant is really great. It is owned by a local chef who really puts his hart en soul into every dish he serves. The setting is really nice and a welcome change from the other hotels and restaurant owned by mostly europeans. Don't expect bottom prices though. Prices on zanzibar are not comparable with mainland Tanzania.

Inspired by the recommendation in the Rough Guide (ed. 2010) and by positive reviews on TripAdvisor - though cautioned by the warnings on waiting times - we decided to give Kim's a try. How disappointing! First of all, we had to wait an hour and forty minutes between ordering and being served, which was worse than we had prepared ourselves... More

I went to this restaurant having read good reviews and also to support local restaurants. In the afternoon I booked the dinner by ordering dishes from the menu. When we arrived at 7pm there was none and the lights were off. We asked to house near and after 30 minutes of waiting came the boy with whom I had booked,... More
