We have been here a few times and never had a bad meal as only live local staff are lovey and once in it's very nice Local produce is used and the chef loves her job as she came in to see us on one occasion I highly recommend

My wife ordered shepherds pie and I went for the lamb shank. The food came out and was exactly what we wanted. Piping hot, served... More

When you enter the Gordon Hotel and Steak House Restaurant it is like entering the history of good old England. Just next to the entrance we entered the restaurant where a young lady welcomed us. As we asked why it was so quiet in there she answered she didn't know. 10 tables in an antique room and when you look... More

We were drawn in by the carvery sign so the weary travellers entered. That was our first mistake. The roast beef was dry dark and tough. The veg were incipid and only distinguishable by sight. The potatoes and Yorkshire were OK. My husband never leaves a dessert unfinished but the sponge texture was like shortcrust pastry and on closer inspection... More
