This pub is a little gem. The location, at the end of a tiny, cobbled street leading down to Upnor Castle and the river looks so perfect you almost feel you've wandered onto the set of a costume drama. This is a great place to end a country walk on a cold autumn day. An open fire, and excellent food... More

Nice and cosy pub with good service, plenty of choices to choose from the menu at reasonable prices. I had the mixed grill, which was very nice, and was satisfied after eating it.,A wine list is available at reasonable prices, Car parking at the top of the road and a very short walk to the bottom of the quaint road.

We tried this pub out a couple of months ago and have absolutely fallen in love with it. I have now lost count of the times we have been to eat. The pub itself is quaint and brilliantly situated next to Upnor Castle by the River Medway. The staff are all so lovely and have been from our first visit.... More

Lovely pub in quaint location. This pub has a lovely atmosphere and serves delicious home-cooked food. Portion sizes and quality far succeed what you'd get in chain pub/restaurants but with this it is advisable to book in advance. Highly recommend place to visit.

Been looking for a couple of years for somewhere that a few pals and myself can gather for a midweek pint and dinner. Viola! Found it at last. It's proper fresh cooked food at a reasonable price and served with a smile. A quirky place full of character with lovely staff. 20 out of 10!!! Oh, the beer is very... More
