Not recommended, visited to have dinner, the service wasn't professional, we had to wait half an hour more than we were told and eventually they didn't even have what I ordered one and a half hour before. The salmon dish was flat and quite meaningless....More

Have been to this restaurant twice during two separate visits to Broadstairs. Visits were approximately 1 year apart. Both times I visited with a family group (of adults only). Staff were generally good but personally I would have like a little more warmth from them....More

One of the best meals we have had at what is basically a chain pub restaurant and is easily the best so far in the Thorley Tavern group and the service was first class all at a very reasonable price. Impressed well done chef

Anyone who has reported a bad experience at The Charles Dickens must have been extremely unlucky on the day of their visit. My wife and I spent a very happy couple of hours there on Sunday, a much welcome retreat after a long walk. The...More

Another lovely meal from The Dickens. Poussin was cooked to perfection and the juniper jus was sublime. A couple of friends shared the fish platter and I was gob smacked to read the review below. They wouldn't stop banging on about how amazing it was...More

We booked this restaurant as we were in Broadstairs for the day and wanted a table upstairs overlooking the bay. Booking was quick and easy, on arrival we went upstairs and were shown to a nice table in the window. Drinks order taken, we browsed...More

We watched the little boats as we ate our poached eggs on toast, one with smoked salmon, and the other with extra bacon.

A touristy place for sure but they sell three real ales and the food we had was fine. Service was good. A view out over the town and sea

I've been on Christmas Day and would go again - it books up ridiculously quickly though so you need to book months in advance. If you've got any specific questions I'd be happy to answer
Are you American by any chance? I only ask because of you comments about the bacon.

Yes, I'm from the U.S., California. I enjoy the British Bacon, it is a different cut and flavour profile than the belly bacon we serve traditionally.
