First of all I must stress that we didn't get to eat here, but we were so taken aback by the staff member's response to us when we politely enquired if they had a table for two, that I feel compelled to make a comment!...More

So, have wanted to eat here for some time, finally had the opportunity. The staff and service is very friendly and good. The place has a somewhat old fashioned feel, rather dated in fact. The menu selection is good and the food is ok, but...More

You would expect good fish but the dover sole here was excellent - a good size and perfectly cooked. We sat upstairs at a nice table overlooking the harbour on a busy night and service was friendly and efficient

Busy, cosy, excellent food and very friendly and efficient staff. I would recommend the sea bass. Probably best to book, especially at the weekend.

Lovely Sunday dinner, the four courses just make a relaxing Sunday afternoon - which encourages great conversation. Beautiful view, nice food. Top restaurant, none of the rest of the crew wanted to give them a five, because nothing is perfect. This is pretty close.

Very strange that George E says Broadstairs is 400 miles from London! Scotland is 400 miles from Broadstairs! I grew up in Broadstairs - it is about 70 miles from London & the Tartar Frigate is right opposite the beach at... More
