Nice looking restaurant. We were seated indoors and it was cold. We put our jackets back on. They forgot one of our starters and I had to look for a staff member to bring the second starter as nobody came near us to check everything...was ok. Unfortunately I was finished my starter as the second starter came out. We would have rather ate together. The chowder was nice. However the salmon and spinach pasta was very bland and neither of us finished it as it was flavorless. We didn’t bother with deserts as it was so disappointing other than nice chowder. Maybe it’s good for lunch but not dinner in our experience and you need to wrap up even for indoor dining.More

Tried this restaurant based on reviews (as we were passing the town after a lovely long hike) and sadly didn't live up to expectations. The guy on the table next to us knew everyone and kept shouting across (fine if you're a local but respect...others when they're to enjoy a meal). I ordered the seafood platter, don't!! It was served in bowls so for example the prawns and crab claws were drenched in butter, not in a good way. The calamari got soggy cos it was in a bowl, unsure what's the point of the platter. If you ask me, it should have had the prawns, crab claws and calamari all nicely laid out on the platter, & date enough if the chips were served on the side! Hopefully they can make some small tweaks esp as the restaurant has a lovely location.More

Met with a group of friends in The Moorings one Wednesday evening. The gentleman that met us at the door wore his face covering under his nose, as some sort of talisman. Not one of us was asked for a vaccination certificate. We had a...quick main course and left, several of us older folk were very uncomfortable to be there. If people feel at ease in a premises, they are likely to stay longer and spend more. Not checking certificates on entry is false economy reflects poorly on this business. We won't be calling back.More

Great location, busy restaurant with friendly staff. The menu is huge and so I’m sure there is something for everyone. Anybody that ordered the fish and chips said it was excellent. The burgers we’re also good. I had the nachos, I would not advise getting...them, they were extremely bland. I suppose this place is best described as fine, nothing wrong but nothing fantastic.More

We were really taken with this place during our recent trip to Dungarvan. Obviously it's super popular as it was always busy - however, the gentleman who was front of house was so welcoming, he didn't have a table for us right away but assured...us he'd remember us - so we went for a drink somewhere else and sure enough we came back and he had kept a table for us. The food was fabulous and all the staff were just so friendly and seemed to genuinely enjoy their jobs - we wish we came here for our last night as we had quite the opposite experience in a place around the corner the following night - it just goes to show - a little kindness goes a long way!More

We had a family meal here as it came highly recommended and it did not disappoint, we had a mix of meals in our party and all were plentiful and delicious. The crab claws and prawn starter was my favourite

My husband and I cycled into Dungarvan on the Waterford Dungarvan Greenway recently and stoped for lunch at The Moorings. This was our first visit to The Moorings and won’t be our last. It’s a beautiful old pub/restaurant, very nicely decorated . The overall ambiance...is very friendly, comfortable and welcoming and is well managed in terms of COVID. We both ordered their small bowl of seafood chowder served with smoked salmon salad. The chowder was delicious and the salmon and salad very tasty and well presented. We also had two generous glasses of their Pinot Grigio which was very good. Service was excellent and all the staff were genuinely helpful and very friendly. Their lunch menu looked very attractive with lots to choose from. We would highly recommend The Moorings for a very relaxing lunch or evening meal and the old pub area looks very inviting too.More

3 of us went for dinner at 7.30pm.on Friday night. Staff were lovely and very attentive. A couple of our preferred options were not on the menu unfortunately, though what we settled for was very nice. It was noisy but we did have a nice...meal in spite of the limited choice.More

Ate there on the Friday of a birthday weekend and everything was perfect. Had calamari for starters and they were so fresh and the batter was the crispiest ever! Followed by salmon tagliatelli which was gorgeous! Sat in the outside dining area which was beautifully...laid out and felt like we could have been anywhere in the world. Great staff and all in all a wonderful night!More
