Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Lovely spot on the waterfront in Dungarvan. Charming service and very good food. I had the fish pie which was delicious. Lovely selectino of vegetables with it which were perfectly cooked

We were staying nearby in an air bnb so decided to eat here once again. We were here last year and the year before so we know it's good. We had a lovely quiet table near the rear of the restaurant. The food was excellent...as always and served by a lovely smiling waitress. We had a drink at the bar after. Very reasonable priced food and excellent service. Very happy with everything.More

I visited here in 2021 & really enjoyed the seafood chowder. But this time round I had the fish pie. OMG the most decadent thing I have ever tasted! So creamy. So luscious. The perfect crumb topping. We shared the crab claws & prawns for...starters. DELICIOUS! I didn’t want the lunch to end. My sister had the crab sandwich which she said was also phenomenal! Still dreaming of that seafood pie nearly 3 weeks later & had to leave a review! Great service also.More

We went to the Moorings as a family of 4. Kids pints of cordial were FOC (it’s a thing that drives me mad charging for this!) and our adults smoky burger and fish pie were excellent! I’d advise booking ahead as place was packed! Very...much recommended when in Dungarvan!More

Fabulous lunch! AGAIN! Another great meal. All 6 of us enjoyed it. The vegetable soup was one of the best I've ever had. Fresh & piping hot. Love the brown bread that comes with it. Went for the Lamb Stew for mains. Full of flavour...and perfectly spiced. Big portion. Dessert was the best part of the meal. The meringue was perfect, crispy on the inside, gooey on the inside, gorgeous fresh cream & berries.More

We visited the Moorings last week and ordered the seafood chowder, which I had had many times and recommended to my friend. It was not seafood chowder. I had plenty of died smoked white fish but my friend had only two small pieces. It was...orange, probably due to the died fish. We complained and were given another bowl but informed that there was no seafood in it, only smoked white fish. This is not a chowder. It is a fish soup. It was €11.95 and a rip off. In the past we have had mussels, prawns, clams and lots of other seafood. So sad the Moorings is cutting corners.More

We had dinner here on a Saturday night. The place was very busy which speaks well for it. We had a variety of courses including the fish of the day which consisted of sole, french fries and mushy peas. Everything was very tasty and the...portions were very generous. They also have some very nice appetizers. I recommend the fish chowder, which comes with brown bread. Our waitress was polite and attentive. Very little available parking nearby but you can find parking spaces on the waterfront and not very far from the restaurant. Overall very enjoyable experience and we would come back here.More

Ordered beef stroganoff and it was lovely. One little fault, it came on a lovely plate/bowl but it lacked little parsley or sone greenery . It kind of looked like a “cows Pat” on the plate as it was beef &?sauce . It tasted really...nice though . Had profiteroles for dessert and they were delicious. Very reasonable & very pleasedMore

I dined here with a group last Saturday, and it was excellent. There were 19 of us in our group, everyone's food was delivered together, and absolutely everyone commented on how good the food was. The surf and turf got a great shout out from...people, and my fish and chips was really tasty. Service was excellent as well, especially considering how big a group we were. We couldn't have been better looked after by the team. Would recommend the moorings everyday!More

Went to this bar/restaurant for a meal on a Saturday evening on recommendation from an old Georgina Campbell guidebook and suggested by owner of our guesthouse. We hadn't booked, but called in mid afternoon to ask if we could book a table for two. We...were advised that we couldn't book, but if we arrived early between 5pm & 6pm they would find us a table. We duly called in around 5pm & were asked to sit at the bar & have a drink while waiting for a free table. The place was already busy, but after a short time we were shown to a table outdoors on the terrace. I would rather have had a table indoors but we accepted it as it was only place available. We placed our order at about 5.25pm, and it was almost 6.10pm by the time our food arrived, after we chased it up. I did approach a staff member to ask where our food was, and a male person who I presume was the manager eventually told me that there were a lot of orders placed before mine and they were extremely busy. I understand that, but over 40 mins is a long time to wait. The fact that we were sitting outside all this time and it wasn't that warm didn't help, On top of that, a family at the table beside us couldn't control their two young boys, who were constantly shrieking and squealing, climbing over the bench seats, & running back & forward towards the harbour where cars were passing by. Not the restaurants fault, but the parents. Our meal was disappointing when it did arrive. My husband had a fish dish, can't quite remember what but he said it was just ok. I had the cajun chicken salad bowl, but I made a bad choice. It didn't even look very appetising when it arrived. There was rather a lot of very limp lettuce leaves on the bottom which were tasteless. The chicken pieces were hard and overcooked, and I couldn't eat much of it at all. I did tell the waitress when she cleared our plates away, but all she said was she was surprised as it was a popular dish. No real apology was offered or any form of re compense. We didn't bother asking for a sweet. Paid our bill & just glad to leave the place. There are plenty of other restaurants in Dungarvan, I certainly wouldn't bother with this one again.More

Although they were fully booked when I called that morn , we have to thank Tom for his help in a bit of maneuvering time wise which enabled...to dine in the Snug🤗.
