We’ve waited a while to experience The Tannery and it was well worth the wait. Everything was just top notch. The food was excellent, accommodation quiet and relaxing and the staff professional and welcoming. All covid regulations in order and we felt safe and reassured....Here’s to continued success - you deserve it all.More

Fine dining, food was amazing with a great menu to choose from .Staff couldn't have been nicer .We stayed in the Tannery townhouse and had a really good breakfast next morning. Highly recommend.

This restaurant is in a beautiful stone building with great atmosphere and fantastic staff. Excellent customer service and exceptional food. Starters of a mushroom tart and delicious pate were amazing followed by Monkfish main course which was excellent. Desserts were divine, pannecote with handmade honeycomb...and a chocolate caramel torte and divine yogurt sorbet was truly scrumptious! Great wine line and selection on beers. We indulged in Prosecco and had a wonderfully beautiful night out. Highly highly recommended. Stayed the night in the Townhouse close by and indulged in a seriously tasty breakfast back at The Tannery the next morning. Best birthday gift ever!More

We visited The Tannery for the 3rd time as part of our staycation in Dungarvan. Previous visits pre covid were excellent but on this occasion the experience topped excellence! As other reviews note the welcome from staff is so warm and genuine that immediately gives...the guest a sense of genuine appreciation of your custom and everyrhing is done to give everyone a sense of special attention and occasion. The menu offers great choice and staff provide great insight into the dishes. We enjoyed crab brulee and liver parfait to start followed by roast halibut and Comeragh lamb...top marks for both in terms of how the dish was cooked and accompanied by beautiful flavours in seasonal vegetables and herbs. My dessert was a wow...honey panacotta with berries and honeycomb...I ' m still savouring it ! My husband just wanted icecream and chocolate sauce and no remarks were passed on his simple request! Yes the bill adds up more than a usual amount but the quality of the food, service and ambience makes it worth every single cent! Highly recommended!More

What a wonderful way to return to indoor dining! We enjoyed every aspect of the meal and the informed and attentive service. We chose the fish special and it was perfectly cooked and delicious. The intense flavour of the tomatoes was a joy.

How wonderful is it to be able to have an overnight stay and indoor dining these days? Absolutely wonderful! But if it's an overnight stay and dining in The Tannery, then it's nothing short of perfection. I cannot rate the staff, the food, the atmosphere,...the welcome, the accommodation highly enough. The Tannery has a talent with food, combining seasonal flavours with their own twist of magic. Subtle, but completely delicious. Dinner there never, ever fails.The staff are as helpful and as friendly as you can get, nothing is too much trouble, everything delivered with a sense of humour and warmth. The maitre d' (who has a most fantastic taste in shirts :) ) took it to another level when he (somehow) discovered we weren't having (the most delicious looking) bread, or sides such as potatoes, and came to enquire if we were gluten free. When he learned we were zero wheat, zero sugar he went to the trouble of finding the precise ingredients of their gluten free bread. Breakfast was perfectly and freshly cooked, and delivered with a smile (several) and friendly conversation. How delighted and surprised were we on checking out when the maitre d' told us he had "taken the liberty" of applying a reduction to our bill as we hadn't partaken of all the sides / sauces at dinner the previous evening! This is not our first visit to The Tannery - it has long been my favourite restaurant (nothing changed there!). It will certainly not be our last visit.More

What an amazing night! Stunning food, wonderful ambiance, charismatic service from the wonderful Daniel! Really appreciated the impeccable service with personality! Every morsel was impeccable. Had a taste of the 3 starters, the legendary Crab Crême Brulée, an amazing duck terrine and melt in the...mouth Toonsbridge mozzarella and heirloom tomatoes so sweet that made me think I was in Italy. The main courses didn't disappoint. The juiciest ribeye, elegantly flavoured pasta and my halibut perfection a plate. I do think that charging supplements (€8 for a steak and €4 for the halibut) on a €60 per head menu is a little petty. The selection of local cheeses were excellent but the local rhubarb and custard!!! I'd drive from Dublin tomorrow just to taste it again. Interesting wine list, had a delicious Picpoul de Pinet and an organic Spanish Garnacha/Syrah, both €38. Absolutely adored the Townhouse. Fabulous decor, the comforts of a top hotel in a beautiful period property. A coffee machine in the room would be a welcome addition. Nice touch to have a fridge in the room with milk and water in glass bottles. The only reason I gave our stay 4 stars not 5 was the disappointing breakfast. Unseasoned crushed avocado on soggy bread, Crushed avocado really needs to be on sourdough to prevent this. Poached egg like a golf ball, had to order another. My companion's sausage was underdone although she said it was delicious. I couldn't have eaten it. Disappointingly the bread is no longer supplied by the Seagull Bakery. Toast was pedestrian, brown bread made up for it. Only 1 delicious croissant left - for 3 people, not good enough. Eye was definitely off the ball for breakfast. I'd overlook this however as our dinner was exceptional and I adored the Townhouse. Can't wait to return.More

Three rooms booked for mid week break, bed linen definitely not clean in all three rooms and slept in. Everything thing from dead flies, hair and stains on the sheets. Shocking to think that this can happen in 2021. Food disappointing also. All three couples...will NOT be returning.More
