I must say that this wonderful establishment has moved to the top of our list for a place that we will definitely return too. From the moment we arrived at the door of Restaurant to collect our key for our room in townhouse just around...the corner to the next morning when we left we were made very welcome and very special. There is not a bad word to be said about this venue. The dining experience is second to none. The dinner in the evening and the breakfast the next morning was only delicious. The staff are so customer friendly and customer focused it was an absolute pleasure to be on their company. The room was one of the best clean, warm and a very comfortable bed. Fair play to everyone involved. We travel a lot it is what we love to do. Definitely this is one to return too and enjoy their wonderfull hospitality. Keep up the great work.More

You hope it will meet with your expectations and it surpassed it. Everything was divine. Wine choice good and prices very reasonable. Only down was a number of specials not available but we had a later sitting. Minor blip on reservation but Daniel and team...handled it like the professionals they were. We will be backMore

The welcome we received was effusively friendly and unreserved. The bar/waiting area is tiny and furnished with one couch and high stools placed against narrow counters. The dining area is reasonably appointed and the staff are professional, for the most part, friendly and efficient. The...starters of crab crème brûlée and goats cheese with beetroot were excellent. Mains of steak and the duck were both done and presented beautifully and we both enjoyed them. The additional side of greens were poor, being very hard and stringy and were returned. The bill reflects this. The French wine was pleasant. Dessert of apple cider mousse was adequate but lacked flavour. Our order for tea had to be made twice, but service overall was of a high standard. At 9pm, before desert and tea were served all the vacated tables around us were stripped of their table cloths etc and prepared for tomorrow's breakfast. This made us feel rushed and uncomfortable and in my view should be delayed until diners are finished their meals. The toilets are small and are in need of updating. The price paid was fair and acceptable. Despite enjoying parts of our meals our experience fell short of what we expected.More

A very enjoyable experience for our first visit. The EarlyBird menu was brief but the product was top class and great value for 3 courses at €40. Portions were generous too. The surrounding decor is bright and tasteful and a very pleasant atmosphere built up...(without ever getting noisy) as the evening progressed. No pressure or rush to move us out before the evening diners arrived. We will be back.More

We had a very unpleasant experience at the Tannery thurs. evening. My son rang restaurant at 3p.m. to book an early bird meal for 3. The lady who answered phone initially said we could have a table at 5.30p.m. but would need to vacate table...for 7p.m. which my son said was'nt a problem. She then changed her mind as she said computer system would'nt accept booking. We were confused and upset by her attitude and at 4p.m. my daughter rang restaurant . the manager answered and said table for 3 was available! When we arrived at 5.30p.m. I gave manager feedback on what happened with our first attempt to book table. He said it was a computer issue as they outsourced their booking system. I found his answer unsatisfactory and dismissive. When we sat down at table I clarified with him that it was him who took second attempt at booking so booking system was'nt ousourced. I then asked him did he get a chance to follow up on my initial query and he replied lady in question did'nt remember the phone interaction with my son! He then suggested was it another restaurant that my son rang. At that point we decided to leave restaurant as we were disgusted by his responses to our constructive criticism. Up to that nasty episode with the restaurant manager I had given my custom to the Tannery for the last 20 years plus. I felt I had to highlight the appalling customer service attitude of the restaurant manager who I dealt with in previous years and had'nt a problem with. All I wanted was for him to take my feedback on board. I felt he got defensive and was'nt really listening to me. But the worst part of our experience was for him to suggest we rang another restaurant and initially claim he did'nt take the second phone call from my daughter.More

We went for a meal on our holidays. Having heard such good reviews we were very excited but unfortunately we both felt very disappointed with the experience. We felt it was very overpriced for the standard of food. 65eu per head for a set menu...with supplements for steak etc (8eu). My husband got steak which was lovely but my main of hake was totally and utterly bland. The starter of duck croquette was fairly mediocre. We both had baked alaska for dessert which was okay..but the sponge was not good. The waiter was really lovely welcoming and attentive but we did find it a little off-putting to watch him iron the tablecloths around us during our meal. We ate in other restaurants in dungarven during our stay which were just as enjoyable for a fraction of the price. Unfortunately we will not be returning on our next trip to waterfordMore

We ate here recently en route to Dunbrody House in Wexford and had a really great experience. The food was excellent and the staff were warm and welcoming. The crab creme brulee was particularly memorable. Great job by everyone here :-)

It was wonderful to be back in Dungarvan and of course at The Tannery. It was great to see the restaurant full and the atmosphere was brilliant. Food was up to the usual standard - 3 of us had the crab brûlée which is so...tasty. We all had different mains and a shout out to the vegetarian options which one of us had and really enjoyed. Finally any room for dessert - well of course and my baked Alaska was delicious. Also fabulous Bellinis to start and great wine with the meal. Lovely evening!More

I know this area very well and have eaten in the Tannery pre Covid. This was our first visit since. We booked for Sunday lunch, On our experience I would have no hesitation in recommending Sunday lunch. It was excellent both in the quality and...presentation of food. My lunch companion ordered soup and roast chicken, which, he stated were excellent. I ordered crab starter which was excellent and the fish dish I requested the fish to be served (grilled) with a little lemon, it was perfect, with perfect creamed potatoes and beautifully cooked seasonal vegetables as side dishes. The dining room was full (always a good sign) you have it down to a fine art, Please keep up the excellent standard. You have got it right.More

The food is of a high standard. However, I found it poor value for money. A three course set menu for €65 with a €5 supplement for a fish dish and €8 for steak is unacceptable. Additional vegetables/chips were €5. Tea and coffee were charged...separately. Dinner for 2 with a €5 supplement and 2 glasses of wine was over €150.More
