We visited Drumcoura for our first post Covid night out. We could not have chosen a better location for our first night out. As we arrived at 8 pm the lake that the restaurant overlooks was still and reflected the Leitrim countryside with a stillness that calming nature that eased us into the evening. Upon arrival at the front doors there is a newly installed hand sanitiser station. As we entered we were greeted by a member of the waiting staff in face ppe shield who showed us to our table. The new layout of the dining space gives plenty of social distance spacing. The whole room smells clean and fresh without being clinical which gave us an added comfort in these strange times. For starters I had a perfect pint of Guinness that lasted all of 15 seconds. For food starters my partner chose potato skins with crispy bacon that he polished off with a smile while I had Mexican style nachos that he had to help me finish off. The nachos is definitely a generous portion that could easily be a shared starter. A wonderful combination of Mexican style beef mince on warm tortilla chips with peppers, tomatoes, spring onion, guacamole and red onion relish. This dish would go perfectly with a few cold bottles of beer any night of the week. The mains were the house special burger and steak. Served with a generous supply of hand cut, wonderfully seasoned chips. My partner could only complement the burger in the best terms. My steak was one of the best steaks I’ve ever eaten. I kid you not! Incredible char grilled flavour that was pushed right to the limit to achieve ultimate caramelisation on the meat and perfectly seasoned and cooked throughout. Accompanied with tomatoes, onions and mushrooms it was the perfect steak dish. I forewent on dessert because I didn’t want to lose any of the residual flavour of the steak. We could not have asked for a better meal on our first night out. We all thought that we became better home cooks during lockdown but tonight reminded us just how well the professionals can do things. Thank you to chef Keith and his team for a wonderful night. I hope everyone takes the time to experience this gem of a spot on the heart of Leitrim.

We visited Drumcoura City today after a long break & we could not have been more pleased. From the front door & the sun drenched view of the lake, you can see that customers safety is a priority; from the multiple sanitisers throughout the premises, well spaced tables & the face shielded staff regularly cleaning all touch points which helped put us at ease. The staff as always were so friendly & courteous, you can see the friendship & comadarie between them. If possible the food is even better. We had duck spring rolls & cauliflower buffalo wings with a mild but tasty blue cheese sauce (a perfect combination)for starters. For mains, the rack of bbq ribs were tender & juicy while the sauce on the chicken champ dish was "deliciously drinkable ". For kids, the pictured menu makes for an easier time when choosing, the pizzas were a big hit & "the best pizza ever" as per my 5 & 3 year olds. Cold beer on tap, a nice wine list & the cocktail menu means it can be hard to leave. Just want to say well done to all the staff, we see your hard work, we appreciate all you are doing to make a great dining experience & wish you all every success going forward. Cant wait to come back already.

The staff is really friendly and the atmosphere was very wild west. Although we were without kids, we seen that the place and staff is very family orientated with the staff engaging with the kids. We ordered the steaks which were absolutely beautiful and perfectly cooked medium rare. On the cost scale.. we dont think it was bad at all with 1 starter, 2 steaks ,4 pints and 2 west coast coolers under eur 90. On the end we asked to buy 2 glasses of them as they had usual Budweiser glasses and the manager was nice enough to give the glasses to us. Highly recommend.

Just back from my 2nd visit in a week & already looking forward to returning again. The management & team have outdone themselves with providing outdoor seating: additional seating has been provided in the carpark, the side decking has been upgraded with a marquee, heaters, lighting & some lovely greenery, while the front decking has been covered with bright flags & also has heaters & lighting. They have really done all they can to offer an exceptional dining experience even in the Irish weather. There is a new menu catering for the tastes of all, so far I've tried the pulled pork sandwich & the steak sandwich, both more than plentiful & cooked to perfection, all meat locally sourced so nice to know they are supporting other local businesses too. Plenty of options for the kids. Haven't had any starters yet, although they sound amazing as I wanted to leave enough room for a dessert from the new award winning chef & boy am I glad I did, even if I couldn't finish. The salted caramel & chocolate tart is to die for, pure decadence while the coconut layered cake is wonderfully delicious & light. All I need is a lift next time so I can try the cocktail menu🍹

Went with our six year old girl that really wanted to camp, we compromised and decided to glamp instead. It was such a great experience! Lots of horseriding, visiting the local attractions and great food and company in the Saloon. Would highly recommend. The owners are so friendly and keen to ensure that everyone enjoys their stay, the staff are so helpful and it's such an amazing way to completely switch off. The chef came out to say hi while we were dining and it was easy to see why everything works so well. The staff are so highly dedicated to providing the best experience that all round it just all really works.

Having heard a bit about this place we decided we'd give it a go. Had a reservation for 8pm for two, arrived at 8 but the table wasn't ready. Staff behind bar kept apologising, and kept saying it will b ready soon, we finally got seated about half 8. At one point it felt like we were in a creche or childcare place, it was crawling with kids but maybe it was just the night it was. Ordered starters that were another 40 minutes coming at 9:10 pm and were cold and bland when they did arrive. The wings were sloppy and the ribs were small and tasteless. For mains we had to get up at twenty to ten to ask how much longer till they were ready. The pizza wasn't much more than what you'd get in the freezer aisle of the supermarket and the burger was drier than the skull of the poor beast that was mounted above the bar. As as for the onion rings, they came in a basket on a plate that caught enough oil running out of them to fry up another couple dozen of them. All in all it was a very bad experience, they dud knock the cost if the starters off the bill for the wait we had but in honesty it needs more than that to entice us to go there again.

Had been meaning to find the time to go for last few years, so glad we made it. The steaks were recommended by the chef and omg he was right they were fabulous, best steak I have ever had. Guinness was very good also👍😂 The staff here work v hard to ensure you have a great time and certainly succeeded for us. Will definitely return and certainly will bring any friends that come to visit us.

We went for food & drinks, just ordered drinks first & then we observed a meal been sent back to the kitchen. So decided to hold off on the food. Another table near us waited 40+ muinets for their food to arrive. Then we observed them sending one dish back to the kitchen. The area we were in was freezing cold, a tiny stove & non of the radiators on. It was a large room. The ladies toilets had no lights on, then the toilets had no water in the ciston to flush. There were a number of dirty glasses on the outside tables as we left that were there when we arrived. No outside lighting on the decking area, carpark area, I nearly fell down the side steps The place is a health & safety hazard in my view. Should be inspected asap.

We had a booking made weeks in advance for a large group of family. We were there at 6.30pm we were waiting forever for our starters well over an hour. Then no sign of our dinners after around 2 and half hours there. We started asking the two waiters what's going on. Some of us had babies and toddlers with us and it was nearly 9pm. We were told they had an incident today and food would be along shortly. Nearly 9.30pm and still nothing. Half of our group had to leave and went to get a take away somewhere else instead. Some of us said we would wait it out because it was too late to go anyhere else. They started bringing food out around 10pm. Two of us had ordered steak and we were told it was only being put on now. We told them not to bother it was too late. Never experienced anything like this before it was ridiculous. Another group that arrived after us were dealing with the same situation as us and kept waiting hours. The ones that did get food said it was just very average. There was only two girls working there behind the bar and same ones doing the waiting. There seems to be only one chef who is under pressure and couldn't cope. We were understanding and polite about the situation but we didn't receive much sympathy or were not kept informed about any situations until we asked what the delay was. For example they could have asked us not to order starters or could have booked our order hours in advance since we booked weeks ago. Very unfair considering we had small kids and babies with us. At nearly 10pm we were offered a free round of drinks when we were about to leave so we couldn't even accept that. We asked to speak to a manager or person in charge and there was nobody there to speak to us. Waiting staff didn't really know what to do with the situation. They were probably embarrassed. They didn't appear to be too bothered about what was happening it properly is the norm there. Place itself was run down. Bathrooms had no toilet paper, bins over flowing, function room was cold ect. Defo avoid for food. I would only advise going here for a drink if your desperate.

The place looks fabulous, decor is unique and themed and wonderfully authentic. However, service and ride staff let it down. Inedible steak, tough chicken and scattered delivery of meals made for a poor experience. Meals were delivered to four of our party of six in drabs, a mistake in our order meant two were left waiting a further ten mins for their meal. Sides of fries were later again for the first four served. A surly hostess constantly looked annoyed and was disgusted that we wanted to split our bill. Would suggest staff are trained in customer service and table service. On a positive, best fries and ribs we have had. I don't like leaving a negative review, but I have to on this occasion as training and attitude would make a huge difference to this venue.

Incredible service and staff were so welcoming and attentive. We ordered the steak and burgers and it was some of the best food we have eaten. When giving compliments to the chef, one of the staff members informed us that the chef was her 18 year old son. Would highly recommend coming here for something to eat. We are still raving about the steaks and cannot wait to return.
