After more than half a century, the Taverna dei Barbi still follows the same tradition. At the tables set outside or around the big fireplace that dominates the main dining room, diners can taste the dishes typical of the Tuscan tradition and of Montalcino in particular, prepared as they

Had a nice couple plates of pasta and the charcuterie we had was good too. Bread was a little stale though. Had a great bottle of Brunello to go with our dinner. Fireplace in the middle of the dining room was a nice touch too!

We had an outstanding lunch at the Taverna Dei Barbi on a recent trip to Montalcino. We ordered a selection of antipasti that were all delicious - crostini with chicken liver, organic salad and cheese, but the most memorable two dishes were the pork tenderloin...More

Outstanding food. I had the steak and bruschetta, both were fantastic. Service was good despite the reviews. I was more impressed with their cheaper wines than their cru(for the price anyway).

The whole experience here was lovely. The waiters were attentive and welcoming and the food was fab too. We recommend the boar cooked in a traditional way and of course, the Brunello!

We booked a table for lunch. We made a mistake and sat outside - the bees were so annoying and the chairs really uncomfortable. The service was poor. There seemed to be mass confusion amongst the waiting staff. Also there was a giant group of...More
