Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The welcome is warm and sincere and everyone working in the restaurant was very friendly. Pirgos has the feel of an authentic Greek restaurant with character and the food was delicious… we are returning to the restaurant again it was so good. Usually we don’t...return as we like to try different places. I would recommend a visit here. You will be pleased if you do.More

So we were told about Pirgos by a friend before visiting and had asked that they arrange a surprise birthday surprise for one of our group. They were amazing.... Great host, great staff, so friendly and very proud of their food. Had some great evenings...here with Nikos and his Fanta (be careful)...... but such fun nights with laughter, good food and drink... and much too much Raki. The Stifado was amazing and well worth trying, along with the Lamb Tsigariasto. Will definitely be visiting again, hopefully in the not too distant future.More

Had a really nice dinner here, 4 adults and 2 kids. The menu has a lot of things to choose from, the staff was friendly, they have a playground for kids and the terrace is nice. The food was good, we had tzatziki, tyrokafteri, feta...saganaki, beetroot salad seafood saganaki, a traditional crepe, a meze named 4 corners of Greece, sautéed pork, chicken sticks and chicken nuggets and a shrimp tart. The special mention goes to the pork, seafood saganaki and feta saganaki, all were amazing. Also i have to add that we received 2 types of sweets and raki at the end. I would return to this place!More

Excellent food and service at this restaurant. Welcoming, friendly staff. The sagnaki cheese starter was fabulous! Chicken souvlaki and lamb were lovely main choices. Complimentary ice cream and the raki with honey and cinnamon was a welcome change from the ‘usual’ Raki! Can’t fault this...restaurant at all, highly recommend and we would have definitely gone back had we found this restaurant earlier in our holiday.More

Good traditional greek food. Try their Kleftiko, which is not wrapped in parchment paper but in an edible crust - very nice.

Even though we were booked into All Inc we decided to go out for our last night, and Pirgos did not dissapoint. Atmosphere, staff and food were fantastic. It's a traditional taverna just on outskirts of Platanais main strip, but definitely worth a visit. Food...was plentiful and cooked very well. The home made Raki with honey and cinnamon is a must try. We plan to return to Platanais next year, and Pirgos will be our go to eatary.More

The shrimp saganaki was ok as a starter, but the main course was a big disappointment. We had mosaka and Greek meatballs. One was too cold and the other was on the brink of being cremated. The taste of both were mediocre and without character....Will not return 🤨More

We went here for dinner and were pleasantly surprised. My partner ordered the lamb shank and I the moussaka. It was delicious and not expensive at all. We would go there again.

Very good food in a cozy place for a good price. It was big plates and we were almost full only on our appetizer. I will definitely come here again.
