We visited this beautiful hotel to celebrate a friends birthday and could not have chosen better. Delightful in every way, top cuisine in the best French way, with perfect service in warm and cosy establishment. In the Summer it's even better when you can eat in the stunning gardens. For a special meal it's the only place to eat in... More

We live in the Dordogne and are spoilt for good restaurant choice in France's gastronomic heartland. Le Vieux Logis is easily the best of the bunch. We have now been lucky enough to have eaten our way through their range on menus, and some with accompanying wines selected by the Chef and Sommelier..........all outstanding. Food, service, and ambiance are top... More

Our friends have dined at Le Vieux Logis and recommended we have lunch during a stay in the Dordogne region. The weather was perfect for an early Spring lunch in the beautiful garden. The staff and service was wonderful. The tapas lunch was elegant and delightful with a fish course, a meat course of lamb and two desserts. We enjoyed... More

The weekday set price tapas lunch menu is invariably stunning, though tapas is something of an understatement: the meal is in fact a series of seven or eight exquisite small portions. A favourite is the creme brûlée of foix gras, an inventive and exquisite take on a dessert but served at the beginning of the meal. The flavours are intense,... More

We were persuaded by La Directrice Estelle to sample the seven course Tapas Gourmands dinner menu inclusive of matching wines since, as she said, the chef "has been given his head". What a great decision even allowing for the fact that we had eaten a lovely lunch that day at the associated Bistro de la Place. The seven courses were... More

The estate and cuisine offered is an excellent spot of the location. During December the restaurant is closed on Wednesday and Thursday but we were lucky enough to make it on Friday 23rd December! The service was very friendly and attentive. "Tapas" is a humble description of the original and creative cuisine that was offered. My favorite is the scallops... More

What an amazing meal. Even though it was a cold winters day, we had a very warm welcome. The location and buildings are really exquisite. This would be a great place to stay! But back to our meal... We had the 'tapas menu' quite a number of courses chosen by the chef. Each item was excellent and the lunch overall... More

The best part of having such a wonderful meal here was that it was not expected. Le Vieux Logis was on the iternary for a 12 day bicycling trip and I did not anticipate the tour organizer would provide such a wonderful treat. Dinner was exquisite in form, taste and presentation. The venue was lovely. I would go back at... More

We didn't plan to eat here, but the Bistro was closed, despite the internet's advice. So we drove past the front door just as the hostess was coming out and asked her if we could get in. Boom. Typically, this is not the kind of place you come to randomly. But there you go. I could write a long review... More

The outdoor dining area is outstanding and it was packed on the day we were there (Saturday lunch). The service was very good indeed. We had the tapas menu at €50/head. It was good but not great. A couple of excellent dishes, followed by a rather bland and disappointing chicken dish and then two desserts. Simply no need for two... More
