I have traveled to many places around the world and have not tried better! From the service to the food! Way beyond anything you can imagine. It's a must try when in Holbox!

Atmosphere is romantic with white tablecloth and real napkins. Nice table lighting too. We had good service and received our drinks promptly. The shocking part is when the chef came out to give us our four food options. He seemed curt, blunt and grumpy. Our food came to the table within five minutes with no bread or appetizer or salads,only... More

I really liked the concept of having the chef coming to explain the menu. Food was good but short from what I expected considering the price. After dinner we waited for a long time before getting our dessert and finally we waited another eternity to get the bill... in general I don't mind waiting since I know I'm on vacation,... More

Well we heard from many travelers from our tribe of travel acquaintances at our hotel that this was a amazing dining experience and the Master Chef came from CanCun and he chooses a special "FRESH FOOD" menu every night. So we decided to go, the host sat us in the back we noticed a table open up in front and... More

We heard incredible things about this restaurant and left disappointed. While the food was amazing, some of the best on the island, the overall experience was underwhelming. Although it attempts to provide a unique experience, with a daily rotating menu, we were required to order promptly and received our food within 5 minutes. The whole meal lasted half an hour... I rarely write reviews. I save my input for the best restaurants. I am writing this review because El Chapulim is way over rated. This was not the worst dinner we had, but the second worst. I am not reviewing the worst as they do not claim to be #1, El Chapulim does. We ordered some drinks which sounded awesome....tasted... More

Its true! When the food runs out for the evening you'll just have to try tomorrow. We didn't think other reviewers could be correct on this point, but just in case we came at 7:30 and boy so glad we did two parties after us were seated and then the rest (probably 8 more groups were told to try tomorrow).... Chef comes to table and describes four meals for the evening. I had fish, my husband had shrimp .. both first rate fare! Unique experience, on a unique street, in a unique little town!

There is no menu posted here, but don't let that intimidate you! The chef offers 4 choices each night, usually a lobster, a fish, a shrimp or chicken and a steak dish. He comes to the table to explain the preparation and take your orders. My husband had the grouper and I had the lobster. Both were delicious, though the... More

they have a 'no menu' concept which also means u dont see the prices immediately. The guys are nice but the place isnt cosy - somehow they didnt make us feel wanted there. I asked to adjust something but the food is prepared in advance so they couldn't change anything..which for a non-cheap eat is weird. Otherwise the food was... More
