I had heard a lot about this place and decided to give it a try with my vegetarian friend. Sadly it most definitely didn't live up to the built up hype I had received. I will start with the good, the staff/owner was incredibly friendly and welcoming, it makes it hard to even leave a poor review based on how... More

Friendly staff/owner but total dilapidation inside and out. Extremely cluttered and overcrowded through the entrance/shop with merchandise which appears to have been around a very long time. Ordered the "chili pie" special which arrived barely lukewarm - definitely pre-made and reheated - and with the grated cheddar on top not even slightly melted! My friend's "crustless ham and cheese quiche"... More

What a treat to be able to order what looks good from the menu even with vegan and gluten free constraints. Local sourced ingredients, all food made from scratch, separate gluten free kitchen approved by the PEI Celiac Board. Very knowledgeable and sensitive to allergy needs. Owners/Chefs Jeff and Debbie and staff Colleen and Jason were most friendly and helpful... More

Maybe I went on a bad day!. Reading reviews on this site I thought this place was just right for us. First impression was the outside needed a bit of TLC. Inside the retail area is dark and terribly overcrowded with items that look as if they have been there a long time. In the cafe area there is too... More

My daughter picked this as they had gluten free items on menu. Some of us got the tex mex items on the menu, service was somewhat slow as their was 5 of us but we all enjoyed our food. The bathroom needed a facelift.

Made from scratch offerings worth the (sometimes) wait. The only disappointment I can relay is that in multiple visits over the years, sometimes the full Tex Mex menu is not available due to limited staff in this family business. They more than make up for that with great food, hospitality, down-home friendliness AND tea leaf readings available if requested. Wide... More

Well, it was our last day on PEI and we had searched several locations over seversl days for homemade type meals with quaint yet simple ambience. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by co-owner Debbie as if walking into family atmosphere, she was extremely hospitable and very helpful and knowledgeable about the area. The chef, husband to... More

I'm giving this place four stars not because our food was so wonderful (see pro's and cons, below), but because we just love mom-and-pop operations, and we love nonconformists who make things happen, and we love surprises like this quirky spot. When you drive up, you'll notice the old house in the countryside, which houses the tea room, needs to... More

Leave your fast paced city attitude behind step back in time and enter a world of relaxation and calm. The food is tasty, prepared from scratch using locally sourced products where possible; we had 3 different dishes, and all were delicious. King Cole tea was great, we wanted to take some home and on the owner's advice, we did find... More

Description
The Kitchen Witch is located in an historic two-room schoolhouse built in 1832.The school building has been lovingly restored to authentic 19th Century decor. It features the original hardwood floors, trim and wainscotting throughout as well as gorgeous double-hung paned windows which admit lots of natural light and a breathtaking view. Beautifully decorated, it features antique wooden tables and pressback chairs, lovely wallcoverings and window treatments and vintage prints.Established in 1980, The Kitchen Witch Tea Room developed a tremendously loyal clientele of repeat customers, comprising both summer visitors and local residents. It has offered a tempting menu of sandwiches served on home-baked breads, freshly-ground coffee and a variety of teas.We have owned and operated The Kitchen Witch since 2006. We have a completely separate and fully equipped gluten-free kitchen. We do not serve fast food, and there is no deep-fried food here at all. We cook almost entirely from scratch, so depending on your order and any orders ahead of yours it may take some time. Please, if you are in a hurry, let your server know and we will do our best to accommodate your needs. We understand if you are in a hurry and need to come back another time when you are in less of a rush. We have games on the table, including peg games, crosswords, sudoko, word search and cryptoquick. Children's menus with crayons, and adult colouring pages with colour pencils are available on request.
