Joined friends for a meal on a Friday night. Decent Prosecco on offer to accompany the bread and olives and dips. Tapas for my main course was delicious. Everyone enjoyed their food. Friendly staff. Only one negative - the restaurant is quite small and being just one room (including the bar) it felt crowded and noisy so probably not the... More

We tried Mirrens for a mid week lunch and were eager to see for ourselves what has made so many reviewers give 5 stars. We had a warm welcome and were quite delighted by the modern styling throughout the dining areas. Clearly someone has invested for success. We both ordered the locally produced beefburger, which actually was a cheeseburger but... More

We went for Sunday lunch today for my husbands birthday. He had the mackerel for starter which he thoroughly enjoyed. Sadly there was no gluten free starter. For main course he had the roast beef and I had the vegetarian option of baked mushrooms with garlic sauce. Both were delicious and came with a big pile of vegetables. The main... More

Wracking my brains where to take the family for Sunday lunch this weekend so I thought we would try Mirrens, booked a table and went Today. We were seated immediately and they took.our drinks order right away and they arrived just minutes later and we placed our order. Food arrived quickly (less than 10 minutes later) and wow it smelled... More

This place is a gem in the heart of Wales! Stopped here for lunch whilst passing through Newtown! Delicious food, good prices, great staff and very clean restaurant. Highly recommend! Try the Brie, Bacon Cranberry panini!

Visited here twice in the last 2 months with a family party. I must say our 2nd visit was not an improvement on the first. Prices have been increased for the Sunday lunch to £10.95 and it seems the portion size has been reduced. We were not overly impressed by the service also. The young lads working didn't seem to... Thank you for taking the time to review us and I am sorry to learn that you have not been impressed on any of your visits, I do wish this was bought the attention of a member of staff at the restaurant and could have been rectified from the onset. We did ask our kitchen porter to assist clearing tables... More

This restaurant is quite small, with stylish but basic tables and chairs, in an old half-timbered building. We were greeted with a smile and the service was excellent throughout our stay. The food was good, reasonably priced, and tasty. The portions were quite large, and we'd have preferred a less cluttered plate but of course we didn't need to eat... More

Thank you for reviewing us after your recent visit. I am glad you enjoyed your evening with us. We had a complete re-fit in April 2016 downstairs & feel the tables & chairs fit in well with the surroundings as they are stylish & according to our customers, the chairs are extremely comfy. Due to great demand of a unique... More

Four of us had a huge selection of tapas and for £58 total we couldn't finish the meal. Excellent food, very tasty and quick too. Our waitress was really fun and accommodating to a bit of banter. Definitely would recommend and visit again.

I looked at the reviews for Newtown before we went on holiday and saw this little gem... we were not disappointed at all... the Sunday lunch was beautiful and the lamb melted in my mouth literally! The equally accommodated my 96 year old gran and gave her a smaller portion and ice cream for afters.... We had sticky toffee pudding... More

Description
We offer style, value and the warmest of welcomes to each and every one of our customers. We are at the heart of the Newtown & Montgomeryshire food scene, delivering great tastes from the very best local, Welsh & continental suppliers, to discerning diners in this historic market town. Our reputation is built upon world class ingredients, from celebrated locally produced Waghu beef to creative tapas made from the best sourced ingredients Spain can offer. Lunch is served every day from 12noon to 3pm, including a traditional roast dinner on a Sunday and we serve our evening menu from 6pm, Monday to Saturday. We are a venue to make any special occasion even more special, whether you want a romantic meal for two, dine with friends or arrange a family get together. In April 2016, we had a major revamp in the restaurant downstairs and also refurbished upstairs, with a stylish cocktail bar & lounge area, which is open Friday & Saturday evenings from 6pm and provides an elegant start to your evening. We also opened a private dining room upstairs, which caters for up to 8 people for the more intimate get together. Throughout the upstairs, you can soak in the local heritage of Newtown & peruse over a collection of photographs by renowned local historian Frank Moore. During the warmer months, we can offer alfresco dining in our terrace courtyard or in our purpose built Cantina, which is perfect private dining space for any occasion for up to 10 people. So all in all, you have read a brief description of what we can offer & hope to see you soon, so you can indulge in what we have to offer.
