On a cold, drizzly day we pulled in to the Askrigg Kitchen - nothing was too much trouble. Homemade soup of the day and girdle-busting savouries were packed up for us to enjoy in the car on the top of Askrigg Common, overlooking Gunnerside. What a treat.

The staff are friendly and the food was very good in terms of quality. When we visited, the choice was rather limited in terms of the cake selection - but that may have been a Christmas time issue.

Tried the home made frozen meals for our self catering break and they were delicious. We had the chicken, smoked bacon with mushrooms and the chicken, ham and leek crumble. Just added our veg and hey presto a super hearty supper and no real work. Also had the tasty mince pies and local eggs. Great place and so much choice.

Recommend the Vegetable Lasagne (my partner said the best she had tasted)and the Beef in Asrigg Ale was just as good. Pasties and sausage rolls very good and bread is... More

Gorgeous cafe and deli in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. A warm welcome, fabulous coffee and delicious cakes, savouries and freshly baked bread. There are also lovely gifts to browse and a mouth-watering stock of home-made meals to take away, including a vegetarian range just oozing with scrumptiousness! A visit or several highly recommended.

Visited the new premises today (16.9.16) just for a coffee and cheese scone. Jo was really pleased to see us back again, and the cheese scone was well up to standard. She and her staff couldn't...
