We stayed in Aracena for 4 days at the end of March 2017. We were lucky enough to get a table in the evening at Restaurant Jose Vincente and it was fantastic ! What was particularly amazing is that on that particular evening, our host, presumably Jose himself was running solo. He was host, sommelier, waiter and chef all at... More

Prime stop between Lisbon and Seville...if you like "cerdo iberico, pata negra"..."black pork"..the one you can see along the roads eating "bellotas" or oak nuts, you can eat all of it : raw ham and dried sausages, sirloins, "plumas" etc Jose Vicente is a great place to do it...

My family decided to pay this town a visit, to sample the Iberico pork. I read about this restaurant in trip advisor. We were not disappointed! We were the first customers for lunch, and were warmly welcomed by the owner. We let him recommend, and ended up having a splendid 7 course lunch. Including wine and coffee, it cost around... More

Went here on a recent Trip Advisor recommendation. The place was empty on a very quiet Monday night. Jose is obviously a big supporter of the local produce and we decided to let him give us his recommendations. Four warm, spicy slices of beautiful chorizo. Then Jamon iberico with figs...gorgeous. Then local goat cheese on a chunk of tomato. Then... More

We've been visiting Aracena for the last eighteen years or so, and each time we visit - we try to get to Jose Vicente's if we can. I'd recommend the top quality cured Jamon as a starter, or wild mushrooms if they are in season. I've been told by a regular diner that Jose is a wild mushroom expert. For... More

Being out of season a lot of the restaurants are closed or empty. This was the latter but it had been recommended by our guide. We were the only people there all evening. Speaking no Spanish we managed to communicate to the owner that he choose our food. It was fun and the food good. Not knowing how many courses... More

We enjoyed our meal at Tapas Jesus Carrion, which is currently no. 1 on Trip Advisor, but Jose Vicente was a cut above. Both were very welcoming, but here the starters of scrambled egg and Iberian ham, and of grilled vegetables were sublime; also at both we had solomillon Iberian pork and it was more tasty here. Both places were... More

Visited here after touring Las Maravillas - and had a great lunch! The iberian ham really did have better flavor than what we were served in madrid or Seville. Definitely recommend this restaurant!

We were looking for a restaurant in Aracena. El Postiglio was closed, and tripadvisor's list took us to José Vincente. It looked closed but by accident, we entered and were made feel very welcome. The waiter (or the owner?) suggested all sorts of dishes until we had decided. The food was delicious, the atmosphere relaxed, the clientèle were the usual... More
