We ate dinner here twice during our stay in Modica. Hearty regional fare, beloved by locals. Many people recommended this restaurant. This is a family run establishment, huge by local standards. All the young wait staff speak English and were friendly and helpful. We had the veal, the fried potatoes, orange and fennel salad (yum) and pasta dishes. All very... More

We had our worst lunch on our first three weeks in Italy. My wife's eggplant dish lacked taste and heat. It was tepid at best. Obviously yesterday's food not reheated to an appropriate serving temperature. My pasta with pork sauce reminded me of Prego Brand sauce from the US. Open a jar and call it lunch! This place seemed to... More

We visited the restaurant based on a recommendation from our hotel and were not disappointed. They servce traditional, simple Sicilian food such as hearty vegetable soups & meat stews (and no fish). The prices are fair (we paid around 50 EUR for two people for startes, mains and a shared dessert including wine/water) and the service was friendly. The place... More

Osteria dei sapori perduti on ubero. Across from palazzo moncada. For delicious sicilian wine, anti pasti, primi dishes: ricotta pasta w/ peas and amazing garbanzos w/ pork belly/ herbs. Outside seating was inviting and two of us could get in without a reservation. I just loved the whole menu and the flavors.

This osteria is very popular in Modica and a must for tourists. The atmosphere is quaint and familiar and the cuisine is extraordinary. Plus, prices are moderate and service very efficient. These must be traditional dishes from this part of the island, since I've never seen them before in other parts of Italy. I actually regret not having stayed more... More

We visited this restaurant on a recommendation. It is extremely busy and some of the staff are rushing you along I guess for the table. It is not a restaurant where you would linger over the meal. We had to ask 3 times for my husbands drink. My starter of broad bean and pasta was nice and my husbands ravioli... More

Skip the touristic menu and order a la carte. The orange fennel salad was great. The fava bean soup was popular but had to make a choice of one or pasta and opted for that. Shared a pasta and a veal dish and was full. The veal was tasty but not outstanding. The pasta was home made and with eggplant... More

Wanted to try something rustic and filling so we wandered to this place after finding it in lonely planet guide. Menu is easy to read in different languages and pictures of every dish. There are no prices though so you have to try and match the words to the separate Italian menu. The food was nice but no fish options... More

Average- nothing special. Pricey compared to the food quality. Starter is the best choice . I had the stew which is nothing special- bland and flavorless. The ravioli is so-so , the grilled meat is also bland. 2€ per head. I will not return.
