Tried to go there, but they only sold bread. The bread looks dry and not super fresh - but no restaurant

Very nice I recommended for every one to have a meal on this restaurant, and you can have lot of meal
The best food in Zanzibar! Large and delicious portions! The seafood is fresh and perfectly cooked. After trying it once you will be amazed! Thank you!
I read recomondations and decided to try the place out. They have great food! Probably the best we had while in zanzibar. Don't expect a fancy place - it's not, but eating here is a different experience and totally recommended.
We were told about the Chef's baking shop and easily found it on the taxi square. I had delicious fried aubergines with rosemary. The chef is kind and friendly and the bread smelled delicious. Wish we discovered it earlier so we could go again.
This place offers every day a choice of three dishes that changes daily. You can choose between a meal with meat, fish or vegetarian. After having eaten here once, we knew we found the place to come back to. Three young boys are cooking. With...music and sometimes the belonging dance moves they create a real local African vibe. Most importantly, the food was delicious and for a really affordable price. I recommend this place to everyone staying in Nungwi.More
We try Chief when we walk to the village. The place was not luxury but we try it. The fish was brilliant!!!! We felt in love this local restaurant.

Very good food and fresh fish, and fresh mango juice for 2000 tns..and big portion..we were here 3x and really good
Went here one night to get out of the tourist area. We had the best fish stew ever. Decor isn't great but food is amazing and a great price too. We went one other time for lunch which was equally as good. We had chilli...which was so tasty.More
I went there first because I wanted to get out of the tourist area and then because I saw the comments related to this restaurant on TripAdvisor (great invention and thank you guys for your precious feedbacks ;) I would have never guessed myself it...was a restaurant. There is absolutely no decoration inside, only concrete walls, you will seat on plastic chairs, eating on one of the four plastic tables covered with tablecloths which look really cheap. And this is exactly the purpose of this restaurant which offers 5 fresh dishes which change regularly for at least half the price of the ones located on the seashore. My son and I took a "local cheese burger" as we wanted to compare it to something we already tried in other restaurants over the world. The result was good (my son even told me it was better than McDonald's) for only 3,500 Tsh a piece ! The owner was friendly even if his English was limited. I wanted to add also that my son and I never felt insecure when going there even if one of the street was missing some light during 20 meters.More
It looks crappie inside but I had the best okra ever here. Only 5 dishes in the menu for a day. Recommended
After being intrigued by other reviewers and finding this small hole in the wall restaurant in the main square of Nungwi, we threw caution to the wind to try it out. We shared the two specials, a chicken dish and a octopus dish as well...as a freshly squeezed juice. Dishes were freshly prepared and were very good. The place is small and we were the only people eating there at the time. As the name, it is also a bakery with some fresh staple bread item for sale. Our total bill was just under $15 USD and I put the change as a tip into a fund for school fees for a local child. Wonderful experience and food was great.More
I was so excited by the reviews of this place, especially the prospect of cheap veggie/vegan options. My boyfriend and I went here one afternoon and we had the veggie spring rolls and the spiced Okra with rice for mains. The service staff are shy...and quiet, which doesn't bother me much. but don't expect friendly welcome faces. You need to really get their attention to order anything for example. The place itself does not look the most appetising. However, the food was good! The spring rolls were a little bland but super hot and fresh. The spiced okra was delicious. Unfortunately, just as I cut the last piece of okra to eat, I found it felt rather starchy. To see inside, there was a small dead worm inside the okra. Of course this could have been just an unlucky piece of Okra and probably does not reflect the hygiene of the place. Worms do end up in veggies. The dish itself was hot and tasty and we got a good portion size. And it was cheap! 25,000 Tsh for drink, starter and main for 2 people. Shame about the final find :( As a result, we didn't go back.More
This tiny restaurant is definitely the place, where you need to eat. The food is delicious, the menu is changing each day and you will for sure be surprised by low prices. The chef is very kind and a bit shy, but this changes after...a small talk and some tip :) near the restaurant, there are 2 supermarkets and the exchange office I would recommend to go there and try their local food. Very nice experience (we were there having lunch several times)More
