Lets say two out of four dishes were OK, not great, the other two were without any idea/taste. Friendly staff and also nice location.

Once you are in Banska Stiavnica, this restaurant is one of the best. Its an old historical building in town centre, with nice view. Food is really good here, same as service. We god risotto and typical slovak food bryndzove halusky, both were tasty.

Cosy place with a rather average food. For one go you can give it a try, but the place is definitely not for a gastronomy experience.
The service is nice and friendly though.

Good service and welcoming atmosphere of old town. If you are looking for something from traditional cuisine,this restaurant is for you. Traditional dishes in modern interpretation, hight level service and cute,warm atmosphere of restaurant at all. Definitely recorded place to everyone, who is going to visit Banska Stiavnica.

we visited with my family the place. It was working week, lunch time. And it was nit possible to get a la carte from the menu. We were told, until some time just from the daily menu food can be chosen. This was a bit disappointing.

When returning to teh town - which is a gem itself - I wanted to have lunch at the same place, the Monarchia, just like 6 years ago.
The mood is just the same, the kindness of teh staff is just the same, and also teh food was as fabulous as before!
I can anly recommend it, and will be back whenever I return here.

Really nice restaurant in the city center with cozy atmosphere. If you like food like from your mother or grandmother (very good food), than this is right place for you.

This place is great. We had the brilliant garlic soup with cheese and croutons! So yummy. Then confit duck with red cabbage.

We arrived super late (yeah, I am one of those customers) but still got food served. The service was very nice & food was really effin good! As a vegan, I was able to choose too, otherwise many super delish veggie food but also meat stuff! All the dishes were not comparable with anything in normal local places, much much better!
Thumbs up for the servers! Definitely recommend!

In the winter when you arrive in a snowy medieval town, and bocome hungry, teh greatest event will be a place that recalls the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy in its mood, and also the traditional food of the region. We returned 4 or 5 times, and the dishes were the traditionally heavy ones characteristic to the area. We tried everything. LOVELY!

Traditional Slovakian heavy dishes, and they were made PERFECTLY! The atmosphere recalls that of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy. The watress girls preserved something from the lod Czechoslovakian style, but this makes them even sweeter. The old pictures on the walls promote cerating the peaceful and old mood.

The young waiting staff at this restaurant are utterly delightful. If only the same could be said of the food. We will laugh about this one day, just not tonight.

A nice outside terrace, close to the castle and that’s it. Our food was not good. The main course salad that we got was very small with very little pieces of ham and cheese... far from worth the 10 euro... Goulash was just ok, though the bread dumplings not. We also tried the home made lemonade (4 euro) which was just water with alittle bit of juice... not tasty, not cold and no ice!
