We were lucky to find out this place welcomes also dogs, even big ones such as our Weimar. We appreciatted great selection of cakes and a good cup of coffee. Friendly staff, cozy sofas, we definitely recommend Gavalier!

This historically interesting cafe has interesting indoor and outdoor spaces. The coffee is great, but the torts and other desserts are exceptional

What a great coffee shop. The 4 of us visited shortly after noon and were very pleased. The waitress promptly took our order and we were offed a vast array of sweets, cheesecakes and chocolate delicacies. The coffee was delicious as was the raspberry cheesecake...that I tried. Everyone in our party was pleased and the cost was very reasonable. Go ahead and give them a try, you won't be disappointed.More

A friend recommended me to visit this place, so I did. I admit that the cakes are amongst the best (if not the best) I have tasted in Banska Stiavnica. Unfortunately this cafe also suffers from common slovak behaviour - charging the customers for a...glass of tap water. I have little tolerance for this, especially if the price of tap water is equal to other items on drinks menu.More

At the time of our visit it was an incredibly hot summer day and we were very glad to take a seat in the courtyard behind this coffee-shop. The town was busy with some festivities on this day and as such quite a number of...other folks were also sitting outside but we managed to find a good spot. There was gentle jazz music being played by a musician which was a nice touch and not so overwhelming in volume as to prohibit conversation the music seemed to be pleasing the assembled customers as much as as myself and we all gave conservative cricket-type applause between the numbers. W both ordered bottles of very fine quality "Fentimans" drinks.. an English variety familiar to me, of natural botanically brewed soft-drinks.. in this case for myself I ordered Elder flower and for my wife Rose Lemonade.. both were splendid .. but could perhaps of been a little colder. They also serve fresh coffee and a fine selection of cakes both of which we have sampled in the past but on this occasion were more than happy with our bottles of British Lemonade. This place is well worth a visit if you are in town, and I would thoroughly recommend it.More

This is a very nice cafe with homemade cakes. The service is also very friendly. Outdoor sitting in the season. RECOMMENDED!
