Lovely restaurant with great food

I have eaten at seaside over 10 times since being on the island and every meal has been wonderful. The omelette breakfast is lovely and Mary’s (the owner) friendliness makes a great start to the day. I have tried quite a few of the dinner options and one of my favourites is the lobster in creamy jalapeño sauce - it is so tasty! If you want a light bite I recommend the chicken tenders. Shawn the chef definitively knows what he is doing in the kitchen! The service times are quick and all serving staff and always polite and helpful. It has just gone under renovation and has a large dining area with a view onto the beach and sea. It is a lovely place to relax even if you are going for a drink and to play some cards. I recommend you try Seaside as you will most likely will want to go back!

Our Favourite Spot on Big Corn Island

Me and my boyfriend travelled to Big Corn Island and this was our first stop to eat! We had lobster our first night with veggies and grilled plantains and it was absolutely delicious. Great introduction to the Island. We had to check it out again after exploring several other places so we took our scooter over one morning for breakfast. We ordered the American breakfast and hands down it was the best breakfast we had for a while. We went back the next day to eat. The girl who served us was so friendly and such a sweetheart and the ladies sitting at the front table always welcomed us with a smile. It is definitely on the pricier side compared to the rest of the island but it was worth the view, kindness and food! Highly recommend this cute spot and maybe we will be back someday again :)

Delicious and Friendly!

We had a 1-night stayover on Big Corn after spending time on Little Corn. We wish we had come earlier to enjoy more of Big Corn Island, including the food and hospitality at both Seaside Grill and Big Fish Hostel. The host and owner of both places, Mary, could not have been kinder, more helpful, or more hospitable. At Sea Side Grill, there was an excellent and creative variety of seafood dishes. We especially loved the fish fingers which come in fried plantains with a cabbage topping. The appearance and flavor were that of the finest restaurant in the states. If you are staying on Little Corn, please consider leaving a day or 2 early to enjoy Big Corn, which is for some reason, under-rated. Also, that will ensure you arrive at the BC airport dry and on-time to catch your flight to Managua. Don't miss this restaurant, or the kind, helpful hospitality of Mary, the host and owner.

worst lobster thermodor ever

i went with a group of friends. i had her lobster Thermador, couldnt even call it a thermodor bunch of cheese an mushrooms. very distasteful. i paid 16$ for 1 lobster in a terrible sauce with undercooked veggies. not a great experience at all. i dont see how people say the owner is friendly. she didnt even come by the tables when we were there. server was ok . after paying for over price lobster that was very distasteful, i spent most of the night on the toilet sick. would not return . i would spend your money on actual good places to eat on the island .like the morgans bar or relax.

We loved eating here!! It was so good!! Julianne was our waitress and she was the best, so helpful and sweet. The food was fresh and included SO MUCH for such a good price. A lot of the main dinner dishes came with three sides (things like seasoned potatoes, salad, gallo pinto, vegetables, plantain chips, or fries) all for about $10USD. The restaurant is right on the beach and the restaurant is so cute at night. We loved eating here.

Overrated in Corn Island

For those visiting the island, don’t get caught in the fanfare of visiting this restaurant. It is expensive and the food is mediocre. I will let the readers figure out the ambiance themselves (think plain vanilla) and most seafood in Corn Island is frozen first then served. Bewildering! When you think the lobsters are caught just a few meters off the island. Save the adventure spirit and settle for something more cost effective. I was underwhelmed and definitely surprised at the cost of a meal.

A True Delight!

While on the island for 4 days, we are at Sea Side Grill twice! The seafood on the menu was so tempting that we ordered so that we could share. The grilled lobster was plentiful and delicious. The eye-opener for me was the conch stew - a wonderful play of coconut and curry. Do NOT miss their plantains, which are grilled to bring out subtle flavors. The staff were warm and welcoming; the view is amazing. This place is reason alone for us to come back to the island.

Bad bad service and food average. Waitress don’t know for which reasons didn’t want leave me the menu after the order. Service was slow and bad. No bread available. Food was alright but not unforgettable. They didn’t have even one dessert available and luckily I checked my bill as they tried to charge me 57$ vs 33$

Hidden Jem in Paradise.

This spot was AMAZING, went to Corn Island for the first time with a bunch of friends. If I was flying solo I would've eaten at this restaurant the entire week, not once was I ever disappointed. Had cheese burger, lobster burger, shrimp and seafood mix ceviche, sea food mix cooked in coconut milk and much more everything was excellent. Mary(the owner) and Erna's service was kind, friendly, and professional. In one spot you I found excellent food, clean beach, and clear blue ocean. There's no help for you if you're still stressed after spending a couple hours in this spot.

A perfect afternoon

We came for lunch and ended up staying for many hours. Food is excellent and staff is very attentive. They also have beach access with umbrellas and loungers, and bar staff to bring you drinks. Best food we had on the island!

Not to be missed!

The go to beach restaurant on the North End of Big Corn Island for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Fabulous cocktails, great food, marine centric with fresh fish off the boats, lobster to die for and conch fritters, a favourite appetiser. Attentive service but a chilled Caribbean vibe with local music. Not to be missed!

Locals hang out

Our service was great. The location can't be beat with patio seating right on the beach, where locals were found drinking and enjoying a game of bocce ball. Our lunch (lobster burger) was good.

Disappointed November 2024

Disappointed for several reasons. We were looking forward to several things that had been posted about this top rated Nicaraguan restaurant like pina coloada, lobster. Perhaps because we came during the off season is why they weren’t stocking and seafood. NO lobster, no seafood kabobs. NO pina coloads. No desserts. Conch dish ok. With credit card they asked for 6% additional.

Great family run business.

The lobster and fresh fish were really great. The sides were superb. It was extremely windy on our first visit—so windy that tarps were in place to keep the sand out. The restaurant owner, Mary is an amazing host. She makes the entire dining experience with her family. We took a snorkeling tour with Capt Peter from Seaside Grill (starline tours) and we highly recommend him. Great gear, fun boat and very experienced. If you are looking for a great meal, excellent people and trustworthy travel adventures on Big and Little Corn Islands Seaside Grill is your place. Mary and Capt Peter can’t be beat.

Best food and view while dining

Excellent food, view and service... we ate here five or six times and every meal was great... owner is a trained chef who worked on a cruise line... my wife is vegan and they were more than happy to accommodate her
