The Pizzeria Italia Ristaurante on Big Corn Island is a truely italian styla location. Luigi "Nardo" Narducci is a master pizza maker with 20 years of experience and he will serve you a hand made Pizza, Canelloni, Lasagne, italian bread and Calzone out of his wood fired oven. Also availiable are Pasta with a variation of home made italian sauces. Everything is fresh, handmade, hot and delicious. During the lobster season you can also order any dish with fresh lobster straight from the local fishermen and enjoy the taste of the caribbean ocean on your plate.

The best pizza ever and the most lovely birthday dinner

My husband and I visited the island for a second time now for our honeymoon and we were eager to go back to La Pizzeria because 2 years ago we had found his hidden gem. Nardo, the owner of this restaurant, makes the most delicious pizza, it is truly the best we have had in our lives. It is made in a traditional oven and the taste of the cheese that Nardo makes by himself is just out of this world. I consider myself a "foodie" so you can imagine my excitement to go back to a place where they serve treats I enjoy so much. The quattro quesos is my favorite. That's not all.... during our honeymoon it was also my birthday celebration. My husband partnered with Nardo who prepared for us the most delicious dishes that he said are usually served for celebrations in Italy: lasagna, ravioli and Stinco with smashed potatoes (tender pork slowly cooked in the oven with wine). All 3 dishes were delicious, we were so happy and so full that we even took home the leftovers and ate had more dinners with them :) That night Nardo also prepared the most delicious Sangría I have ever had. If you like Sangría, make sure you request it at least one day in advance as he doesn't prepare it all the time, you will for sure love it. The ambient is enjoyable. Simply but thoughtfully decored. You can see how Nardo makes pizza right in front of you. He is so fun to be around. We felt welcomed as him and his wife are so friendly. Bottomline, La Pizzeria is a must go visit if you are in Big Corn. We shall return every time we go back to the island.

One of the Best pizzas I have ever had!!!

This review is long over due and has been on my mind and I finally got around to writing about this wonderful place. My brother and I had been traveling all day and finally got to our hotel right next door and realized we had no cash and almost no place on this island excepts cards. We walked into the pizzeria to see if they would take card and they unfortunately responded no. The look of desperation must have been on our face because the owner told us to take a seat and he would make us a pizza. The only stipulation was if we liked it to write him a good review and if we don't just don't say anything at all. The pizza and environment was amazing and we will never forget the kindness these people happily gave us. The gentleman who owns the restaurant who makes the pizza had a smile on his face the whole time and signing and just seemed liked he really enjoyed what he was doing and it showed in the food. Thank you again and I cant wait to revisit!

Good Pizza and Italian Food

Stayed at the Casa Canada across the street and ate here several times during our stay. Nice ambience, with a wood fired stove manned by the Italian ex-pat cook. Large selection of pizzas and Italian dishes. Pizzas good, as are the salads. Pizza dough not quite up to North American pizza specialty store standards with semolina flour, but it must be a challenge to get true Italian ingredients in such an isolated location. Lasagna was so-so. All in all, very good pizzas, as evidenced by our return there several times.

This is the only and best pizza place on the island. If you like Italian food this is a stop you should not miss The owner and staff are friendly and personable — and the pizzas large and delicious. Make sure to order the salad no.55 on the menu. Very tasty !!! See pics attached

Great for a night out

The pizza was excellent! We ordered a garlic based marinara and an American pizza. The mozzarella cheese is made in house and is the best I've had. I ordered a pasta pesto which was handmade and delicious, but not what I expected as the pesto was not a sauce, rather a deconstructed version with all the ingredients whole and mixed in the spaghetti. I also thought the only red wine option was not great. overall 5 star, highly recommend!

Real Italian on Big Corn!

We had a great meal at Pizzeria Italia. The food was wonderful and the pizzaiolo was the real deal. The pizzas are made in a real wood fired oven. The ingredients are delicious and the service fun and friendly.

Willie Colón once said: “La vida te da sorpresas, sorpresas te da la vida” (Life is full of surprises, surprises can be found in life)* After celebrating our wedding, my wife and I decided to get away from life’s worries and go to Little Corn Island, a small piece of heaven in the Atlantic coast of Nicaragua. To get there, we had to stay over night in Big Corn Island, it’s bigger sister. After enjoying the white sands and crystal waters my wife and I decided to go out for dinner. Our hunt took us to Pizzeria Italia, a small establishment right in front of Casa Canada Hotel. From the smell of the open firewood pizza oven, to the kind and endearing chef and staff, our palate flew with a mixture of seafood, pepper and music. The crunchiness of the home made, hand pressed dough. The hint of sweetness in the home made mozzarella and the classics rocking on the speaker are some of the things you don’t find in many places. Each bite makes you understand that passions can also be found burning inside a firewood pizza oven, and that in the hands of a master poetry can have a flavor. A journey of flavor with Basil on top. *:Interpretation, not translation

Best Food, Best Experience, Amazing Chef.

This was hands down the best food my wife and I had on the island. The Pizza and pasta were amazing. The chef was lovely to hear singing as he prepared all of the patrons food and he regularly talked with the patrons. We went three times and tried something new each time. We were happy every time. I highly recommend eating here.

Delicious food and authentic atmosphere

Narducci's place is my favorite restaurant to experience a taste italy here in the caribbean. The pirata salad is delicious starter served with homemade focaccia. All the pizzas are tasty. If you are feeling adventurous try the Volcan! Topped with fresh homemade pasta. Pairs perfectly with a bottle of wine! Bon apetito!

Nice original Italian Pizza on the island

Saw the reviews and had to try it out. The owner was super nice and personable. He is actually from Italy and brought in a wood fire overnight!! Pizza was done quick and was thin crust how I like them. He is also organic and makes everything there by hand! The pizza was very good but, for me, a little bland. With that said, I eat things super spicy and so it takes a lot to get it spicy for me. If you like Italian, I would for sure try it out. There were quite a few people here and the lasagna looked great. So I would try it next time.

Enjoy the italian flavor!

Thank you, Luigi, for such an amazing dinner ♥️ Luigi is the italian chef who cooks right in front of you, bringing italian flavors to your table. I had an oven-roasted vegetable dish with lobster and shrimps…. Tomato, pepper, onion, mushrooms, olives, basil and oregano cooked in a delicious tomato sauce. It came with focaccia. It was amazing, and the portion size was very generous… even couldn't eat it all by myself! The sangria was delicious as well! If you came to Corn Island, don’t miss your opportunity to enjoy Luigi’s food. Only cash accepted!

The best real Italian pizza in the world is in Corn Island!!

Pizzeria Italia, a gem in the middle of paradise!! Nardo, the owner, was magnificent. We never tried a great authentic pizza or any other food like this. Nardo was telling us how he grew all the vegetables himself, made the organic pizza cheese himself, and how every ingridient in the pizza is 100% natural and organic. We could not believe how tasty and delicious the food was. We were already full after the first lobster pizza but the food was so delicious we could not stop eating :) The ambience in his restaurant was amazing. We felt welcomed, felt like at home back in our home Armenia. Thank you Nardo. We love you my friend. We will tell everyone what a wonderful welcoming warm person you are and how fantastic your food is!!!

If you like Italian pizza or pasta this is the right place to go. Me and my friends ate here 4 times in a week and we loved both the pizza and the pasta. The pizza is so big that you can share it between 2 people. And it's not that expensive. The staff are friendly and serviceminded.

Fastest restaurant on the island

We have traveled to Corn island numerous times and everytime we eat here at least 3 times in the month and every single Valentine's day (lovers day) since it opened. The owner remembers us every year and treats us very well. His pizzas are delicious, thin crust, delicious toppings and cooked in a wood burning oven. Love, love, love this pizza place. His lasagna is also very delicious and his lobster spaghetti was a favorite of my boyfriend.

Fabulous mouth watering pizza!

This was one of the tastiest pizzas we have had in a long time! Thank you! Even though we are Canadian we ordered the Americana pizza. So good! Thin crust, baked in a wood burning pizza oven. Lots of fresh toppings. The gorgonzola cheede was so flavourful with just the right amount of tangyness and creaminess, so good. The Chef / owner is from Venice Italy, so definitely knows what he's doing. Great guy! Told us he makes his fresh pasta by hand, too. Now we can't decide when we return in a couple of nights to have fresh pasta with lobster or the lobster pizza. We'll have to make a couple visits. Who am I kidding, we're going back tonight! Nevermind in a couple of nights, hahaha! My mouth is watering already!
