This restaurant offers authentic Caribbean cuisine that makes you feel like you are in paradise. I tried the lobster curry and was blown away by the exotic flavours. Plus, they have a wide variety of tropical cocktails to choose from. The atmosphere is perfect to relax and enjoy. You can't miss it if you visit the island!"

We ate here for breakfast and dinner, mostly because breakfast was included with our hotel stay. Pleasantly surprised at how delicious all the food was! The staff was attentive and helpful too. Not the cheapest place on the island, but delicious!

I think this is one of the nicest restaurants on Big Corn Island. It was a little more expensive than others, but the bar on the property is super inexpensive. (We had drinks there first.) We ordered steak and lobster. It was one of the best meals of the trip. Delicious! The photo is the front of the bar on the property, not the restaurant. I did not stay in these bungalows, but a guest showed me hers, and it looked really nice too.

We got a tour of Corn Island by the owner of the restaurant and nothing came close to the quality of The Buccaneer. All the food is great and our favorite was the loaded nachos.

The breakfast was surprisingly delicious (esp the coconut bread toast). Coffee is included, juice is extra. Beware if you order poached eggs they will come hard (I think there’s a slight tendency on the island to over cook everything) so if you’re particular, say something when you order. The bacon was delish!
I also had dinner here one night. Ordered the coconut yellow tail and it was superb.

Five of us stayed at the Paraiso Beach Hotel. We ate the free breakfast each morning there and were not disappointed. Also enjoyed a few dinners there as well as snacks (nachos, etc.) Friendly staff. Quick service.

we stayed at Paraiso for 2 days in early May and ate a few meals here at the buccaneer. everything was good but nothing great or extraordinary.
like the resort itself (which i will review in a separate post) this place is close to being really great but it's the little details that are missing.
the staff was really nice and quite pleasant to deal with except that they are missing some training that could make a difference.(owners responsibility for that) like checking periodically if we needed anything else during meals. mornings you get your own coffee but it was often empty and needed to ask to have it refilled. tables were wiped but we kept finding food on the chairs. like i said it's the little details that are missing here.
I understand it's not a 5 star hotel or restaurant and am okay with that but most of the other places we stayed or ate at did those little things that made me give a 5 star rating. but sometimes if we don't inform them with these posts they might not realize of these little misses.
to finish on a positive note the drinks though were pretty good.
if you go you will not be dissapointed but you won't be wowed either.

We had their special - it was fish in some curry sauce and it was terrible and stinky. we complained to the owner Mike about it and he agreed that it was a stinky fish but he said that's just how it is. We really enjoyed eating at local restaurants like Relax and Sea side grill on big corn and Miss Bridget's on Little Corn

Breakfast with many choices, comparing to other Nicaraguan breakfasts in past two weeks, there were the most tasty.
Dinner - celebration of the 25th wedding anniversary - two-way menu - Devil's cocktail 5*, nacho plate 4*, large mix meat plate for two people 5*+, stuff 6* (from 5)
All food was fresh and delicious. The shrimp, the snaper file and the lobster's tail were just as firm, the rest of the meat was like melt in the mouth.

We stayed 2 nights at the Paraiso hotel and ate at the Buccaneer, because it was convenient. The first night I had the special of the day ( King fish) and my husband had some kind of a chicken dish. The second night I had Thai green curry and my husband had chicken fajitas. The food was okay, nothing special, but the prices were a bit steep IMO.

We stayed at the paraiso hotel and decided to have our supper at the Buccaneer as well as we could just put it on our hotel tab.
I have to say the food is just mediocre, nothing special, just the price is special as it is a bit steep.
And quite often you get a good stench of the sewer swamp just outside the restaurant that blows right thru the restaurant which is a huge turn off.
Other than that the restaurant looks nice and very tropical with a lot of Dutchies, surprised they don’t serve patat with mayonnaise and Currie sauce, or kroketjes and frikandelletjes.
