Great Hawaiian food and awesome staff. We got a few combos and some extra sides. The ribs were excellent. The kalua pig was delicious. I liked the chili pepper water at the table - it was good on everything. This place is CASH only. No ATM on site.

We're regulars at People's Cafe; it's a friendly spot with good service, generous serving sizes, an interesting menu, and ono food! The lau lau has lots of luau leaf, is pretty lean, and isn't too salty. The squid luau is a little sweet, and the serving size is quite generous. The servers are friendly, and the vibe is happy.

This restaurant was recommend by a local and we were not disappointed. We ate dinner early and our server was very helpful in helping us order and telling us which condiments to use where, and returned to the table several times to make sure we were OK and tell us more about how the food was cooked and other combinations we... This small hidden eatery is tucked away in an old building in busy downtown Honolulu. Look for the Longs Drugstore on Pali Highway as a land mark to find the cafe. The interior is old style diner seats and the service is quick and prompt. The food is good. The prices for Hawaiian food is comparable to Highway Inn- medium... More

My wife and I used to frequent here back in the late 70's and early 80's. Food is still great, prices reasonable and portions are local boy portions. Keep it real. Thanks for not skimping on ingredients.

This is a very simple restaurant, a few steps from Pali Long's & Safeway parking, on Bishop Street. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. A first visit for me, recommended by my husband. We had the Hawaiian Plate at $12.50 each. It consisted of Kalua Pig and cabbage, laulau, poi, lomilomi salmon, two pieces of pipikaula and a slice of... More

If you like local food, this is the place. Small but clean with friendly service and "oh so ono" local fare. Good menu offerings of local Hawaiian food, good portions and very reasonably priced. Frequented by locals and the occasional visitor to the islands. This is my "go to" place when I need my fix of laulau, kalua pig, lomi... More

You can't beat the price. They have parking in the back and street parking. It is clean new owners they say, I liked the short ribs with laulau plate. Pork Adobo with side of rice to share. It's not Ono's in Kapahulu it's a old time downtown place that are long gone. The Poke was fresh, the pipikaula is not... More

We stopped here for lunch, since it was around the corner from the grocery store. We had just arrived on the island, were very hungry, and thought it would be fun to try some "local" cuisine. This is a dingy, little place, but there were quite a few people there for lunch. We thought it must be good. We all... More
