Great menu with a wide variety of choices. Loved the food, service was great, and the portions were huge.

We came here for the clam chowder. My partner ordered bowl of the Manhattan and I tried the original Rhode Island. While good, servings were more like cups. One package of crackers with the Manhattan chowder. Bread was extra. For the price, you guys ought to be ashamed - we don't mind spending money for great food and service, but... More

We've been seated at 10.15 for a late dinner but plenty of time until closing at 12am. Around 10.45 we received our appetizers, and half way thru my salad, while chewing and holding my fork and knife I've been asked if "I'm still working on it"...I did need a sec to finish my bite before answering. There were 2 waitresses... More

Overall we had a nice time at Benjamins. The lobster bisque was very tasty, our drinks were great and the atmosphere was nice. Our waitress was great! We both ordered the hot lobster roll and unfortunately we were disappointed. There was a good amount of meat but it could have used flavor and the meat was tough. The creme brulee also... More

We recently had a party of 17 visit Benjamin's for dinner. This is already our favorite spot in town, but we didn't know what to expect for such a big group. The service was spectacular! We had a flawless experience. Some highlights were the pint size cocktails, the massive cuts of prime rib and the fresh seafood. There was something... More

On our recent trip to Newport, we went to Benjamin's for lunch. Eating at the bar we enjoyed conversation and a couple of drinks as well as a delicious sandwich. We both ordered the grilled lobster and cheese sandwich, wow that was yummy!

We stopped in for lunch on the first day of our Newport Christmas visit. We were thrilled to be there during their $1 oyster time. We had the seafood pot pie during our first lunch and it was great. We enjoyed it so much that we returned for the oysters and had their lobster mac and cheese and the broiled... More

We visit Newport monthly and never miss a visit to Benjamin's. We love watching Steve shuck the $1.00 oysters and feel like locals as we "belly up" to the bar. The upstairs is a lot less casual if you are interested in quieter dining. The food never disappoints. The lobster roll, fish and chips, backed haddock, baked stuffed shrimp and... More

A very pleasant and warm place by the sea. Some windows offer a nice view on the bay. Food is good and very fresh. Service is ok and quick if needed (we were in a hurry to catch a boat tour). Some very nice entrees.
