Great vibe- casual elegant with a terrific view. The calamari and cod were both prepared nicely- lightly crisp and served piping hot. Bread sticks and rice crisps are amazing! Even the espresso was served properly - unusual for non--Italian restaurants. Service was outstanding. Will definitely return!

I had dinner on New Year's Eve at The Grill and it was delicious. We ordered the cheese board for an appetizer followed by the NY strip steak and the sweet potatoes for dinner. We had the creme brulee for dessert by the fire and it was amazing. A great restaurant in a beautiful location!

Excellent food and ambiance. View of Newport harbor is great. Price are pretty high but quality and atmosphere justify that

We stayed here and met friends for dinner. We ate waterside and light of adjourned to more comfortable seats under heat lamps. The bar was quite a scene and the food was fantastic. It really was an exceptional experience. We certainly didn't feel like we stayed here and met friends for dinner. We ate waterside and light of adjourned to... More

Ate here during restaurant week in the fall for dinner. I was dining alone during a business trip and was promptly seated. Very upscale seating inside with low light. Service was prompt and attentive throughout the evening. Scallop appetizer, swordfish entree, and pound cake dessert were all very tasty. As with many places in Newport could be a vast difference... If you have the money to spend, and you want fresh food with informed wait-staff, go elsewhere. There are many other quality restaurants, and they may even cost less. The waiter did not even know what the only soup option was. The crab balls were cold, hard, and flavorless. The seared scallops were extremely salty and undercooked. We also were... More

I've tried Grill @ 41°N many times over a 3 year span - year round. The only thing consistent is the most horrendous service one could imagine. Charging New York prices, the bad service is unthinkable. Even McDonald's has service down to an art! There is no excuse. Example: 2 dining (dinner) in heat of summer. One glass, white wine,... The food was fantastic, the service friendly, and the harbor setting perfect on a warm September evening. Although crowded, we were seated right away at the time of our reservation and allowed to linger and enjoy our time. Steak and seafood were nicely prepared.

Two Words ~ amazing food!!!!! You must try this place when in Newport. It's better than a five star Forbes rated restaurant. Trust me.
