We always eat here before attending the musical, it just goes hand in hand with each other. Steak (or hotdog),fruit, salads, beans, coffee, water, lemonade and a brownie or muffin. Open bar on site.

Everything's is Big at this open air dining experience; the huge steak, the smorgasbord of side dishes, the large open air dining area with a beautiful view of the badlands. The steaks are impaled on a pitchfork and then deep fried in a huge vat. People were lined up an hour before the dinner was served. We were at the... More

Before going to the Medora Musical go to the Pitchfork Steak Fondue for a huge steak and a large buffet. It is a lot of fun. Many people. Eat at a long table and meet people who are also visiting Medora. Beautiful views of the Badlands.

The Pitchfork Steak Fondue is a good part of the Medora experience. It is located on the amphitheater site so we ate there then walked to the amphitheater for the show. The late summer evening was beautiful and after a quick rain shower, we enjoyed the view, including a rainbow, and also a glass of wine which was available at... More

We had gone to the Pitchfork Fondue on a previous trip and couldn't wait to go again. There were many more people there this time. The vista is still beautiful but the steak was overcooked. Not nearly as good as before.

We can't go through ND without a stop at Medora and experience the Pitchfork Fondue. The steaks are delicious, as are the sides. Load up your tray with what ever your favorites are. The atmosphere is fun and you always meet people from all over the country.

My preference is meat well done so I was worried about getting a steak but was able to pick out one that was cooked enough that I could eat it. I picked out a thin one. Others in the group got steaks that were varying degrees of doneness but perfect for them. The teaks are cooked briefly on a stick... More

This restaurant is next to the Medora musical venue. The steaks are stuck on pitchforks and cooked in a huge fondue pot so they are crispy on the outside and cooked to medium on the inside. The view of the North Dakota Badlands is spectacular but exposure could be problematic on bad weather days. We got there a bit late... More

The pitchfork steak dinner was a definite disappointment for us. For $30 per person, we were expecting at least, a steak we could eat. They say its medium rare, but ours were both well done. And tough. The baked potato was so over-baked and almost inedible. The rest of the offerings were just average. I don't recommend this dinner at... More

A hour long buffet before the Medora Musical(separate tickets). I didn't feel it was worth the $30 for the bison/chicken/ribs choice - probably should have gone with the fondued steak choice. A problem with buffets, despite the fact we were near the front of the line, the chicken was cold and the ribs. the ribs were glazed, of poor quality... More
