Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This place made our family getaway absolutely amazing! We travel often and we ALWAYS seek out the little mom and pop cafes. This one didn't disappoint, not only did we get lunch Wednesday and it was so delicious that we forgot to take pictures. My...wife wasn't even done with her lunch when she said "we are coming back here Friday before we leave town" and I couldn't have agreed more. The breakfast was just as amazing as lunch! We had the wraps and pancakes for breakfast and they were both incredible. The dirty chai tea latte was yummy, and we must admit that we are taking home a half dozen of the world's best cookies according to our 4 year old son! We will be back!More

Amazing food and service! We got right in at lunchtime. Our sandwiches were all delicious - I loved the focaccia bread with mine. We shared a blackberry danish and blueberry zucchini cake and both were phenomenal. My husband said the coffee was outstanding and asked...if he could buy some. They were out of retail packages but offered to send some when they restock! We might go back tomorrow before we leave town!More

We stopped here for breakfast while visiting Luray for the weekend. The food was delicious and wait staff pleasant and helpful. I order an iced coffee flight which was a great way to try new latte combinations (4 coffees of your choice). They have a...cute patio area with fans and covered areas in case you are traveling with your pet.More

We took a day trip to visit an old friend in Luray out in Virginia's Shenandoah Valley. Luray has an old town section with lots of shops. Among them we found this charming little cafe for lunch. There are a lot of pastries displayed when...you enter. We were able to get a table without a problem. The menu contains a lots of different salads and sandwiches. Portions were generous, and the food was delicious.More

From the outside to the back porch this place has a ton of character. When you enter you are greeted by a display of fresh pastries and the smell of coffee. Seated and brought water immediately. Tons of choices on menu. Food came fairly quickly,...staff was super nice and attentive. Highly recommend! Sweet potatoes were the best!More

Our family of five had breakfast here on a stay in Luray to visit Shenandoah. Cute little place with good coffee, acceptable food, low prices and friendly staff.

We were the 1st for breakfast but had to wait over 20 min for our food? Egg wrap was very good, partner's eggs were not hot. Went back for lunch, there was a 45 min wait....at least they told us......salad was pretty good. Cute inside,...staff was friendly.More

What a special place to have discovered by accident! The ambiance is terrific...a quaint diner... and the food is outstanding. Save room for the incredible baked goods!! We were delighted to stumble upon this little gem.

Picked up a beautiful carrot cake to celebrate my birthday. I emailed regarding a cake a few weeks ahead and the response was great! They were very accommodating and able to provide exactly what I wanted. The cake was delicious and priced right. We hoped...to try the lunch offerings for a picnic when we picked up the cake, but they were busy and no longer doing to go due to the wait time. We will definitely order lunch ahead next time we're in town.More

Terrific lunch after a drive in Skyline Drive. Really cute decor, tasty sandwiches and very nice server. I recommend the chicken salad sandwich! Easy to park, on street and out back.

We live semi-local but don't get to Luray often. The weather was gorgeous so we decided to feta nice stroll around the Greenway in before it gets cold and the leaves drop. We stopped at Gathering Grounds for lunch after our morning walk and it...was perfect. Friendly staff, nice atmosphere, and delicious food. It was a late lunch and the sandwiches and salads were just the ticket with a couple mugs of delicious coffee to top it off. We didn't get to try the baked goods but I'm assuming they're good because all that was left after our lunch was over was a little bit of pie and a scone so if you're looking for pastry you'll probably want to get there earlier in the day.More

Thought this was a more grab-n-go kind of place, so I wasn't too happy having to sit and wait 45 minutes for a breakfast sandwich. But it's a cute place and the food was good. Just plan on staying awhile.

The restaurant was nearly filled to capacity, but there was also outside seating which many patrons preferred. Huge menu with so many delectable choices that it was difficult to choose, and then, of course, every meal that was ordered that passed by us looked and...smelled delicious too! Gourmet sandwiches on baguettes, or buns, or croissants. Portions were huge! Homemade french fries and onion rings. Took a little bit to get our order but well worth it! Wait staff was so friendly. The Trip Advisor pictures show a menu that is not current, or at least not the one that we had at lunch.More
