I hesitate to give any establishment the five star ranking because it is so hard to live up to and to our mind requires a flawless or near flawless performance. But on two separate occasions at the Compound in Santa Fe we were treated to...More

We needed lunch after walking through numerous galleries. This was a great find. The atmosphere, staff, and are first class and upper crust. The food and wine selections are very good. You will not be disappointed when you visit this restaurant.

We split a delicious salad which was huge. The service was professional. The best is sitting on the deck looking out to the garden. Perfect!

We had an excellent dinner at the Compound, as the grilled octopus was more generous than expected. My halibut was perfectly prepared, and I couldn't finish it, because I was so full. Pleasant ambiance and the service was prompt, if overly verbose. No beers on...More

Smart casual would be fine. Remember if you dine outside to bring something warm.

I cannot recall if they had any private rooms. I think if you contact them they may be able to set you up in some way.

Description
Mark Kiffin, celebrated chef, owner, and author of the Compound Restaurant, has won the James Beard Foundation award as one of America's Best Chefs. The Compound is Santa Fe's premier restaurant with Chef Kiffin's acclaimed seasonal Contemporary American cuisine derived from Santa Fe's rich heritage of regional and Mediterranean influences. The New York Times, Gourmet magazine, The Wall Street Journal and Wine Spectator have all selected the Compound as Santa Fe's favorite. Equally impressive is the attentive, highly knowledgeable and friendly staff. Chef Kiffin's menus focus on the exclusive changes in seasons such as hearty braised dishes in the fall and winter using apples, pears and cider from local harvests, osso bucco and porcini risotto while in spring and summer feature fresh local vegetables and naturally raised organic lamb and delectable strawberries.
