We had an A-OK dinner. Our tofu dish with basil and asparagus was good, but the szechuan duck was dry, dry like it had been sitting around for a couple of days. Want rice with your dish? That's an extra $1.50.

This is a compact restaurant, close seating, decently decorated. The service is good to very good. The sauces are interesting and appeasing. The shrimp dishes get good sized shrimp most of the time...The chicken dishes tend to be over cooked and tough. The new wave scallops dish has again great sauce however the size of the scallops varies. Dont forget... More

I called to order a takeout. When I got there I was told that they were out of what I offered. They were really nasty. The food is pretty ok. This is the same restaurant that is double listed in your review as 2 restaurants with slightly different names. The food is probably the best Chinese in Santa Fe, but... More

Unfortunately, Santa Fe does not have a top notch Chinese restaurant. Chows, which bills itself as the top of the line, may be the bottom. The hot and sour soup was neither, but rather filled with vegetables and crunchy mushrooms with little of that delicate delicious hot/sour broth one expects. The lettuce wraps are better at that well known Chinese... More

As many probably know, this town is plagued with mediocre restaurants. I had lived here almost 3 years before I gave Chow's a try. The food was excellent. My first experience was when I entered, the small waiting area was crowded with those waiting on take-out. A very good sign. Having tried the Kung Pao Shrimp, I now regret that... More

This used to be our favorite chineese place: no longer ! Had dinner there last nite - and we wont be back. The room was ice cold, the duck was tough and the food took forever to arrive. Reason: a constant stream of take-out food coming out of the kitchen.

The menu stated that certain dishes were spicy hot. They were not spicy hot - especially the spicy eggplant - however it was tasty. Tried the Vietnamese fresh spring roll - the rice wrapper was a bit chewy indicating they might have been prepared earlier and not fresh after ordering the dish. The dipping sauce had soy and wasabi -... More

Located in a non descript shopping center that belies the quality of experience within. Really delicious interpretations of Chinese dishes, The specials such as the lamb dish are particularly desirable. Their different takes on pot stickers are also quite interesting including the one with the mint spinach sauce with turkey, carrots inside. Atmosphere is very pleasanr and service very good

Very interesting menu, and I have tried many of the dishes on it. I have never had a bad meal at Chow's, the staff is always courteous and friendly, meals come out promptly and hot; delicious beers, teas and Chow's special flavored tea, and sake. Very reasonably priced.

I frequent Santa Fe for art and food and love to find new places to eat. We had been gallery hopping and wanted Chinese. " yes you can have too many enchiladas" so my friends recommended Chows. Went and found just the most charming and delicious place. First the atmosphere is a bit more upscale and tastefully decorated. The orchids... More
