The Jambo Cafe is new to Albuquerque,,,African-Caribbean fare is delicious...all twelve of us at our table enjoyed everything we ordered. Unfortunately, they are not yet ready to serve a large number of diners at one table. It took too long to be served...our waiter seemed overwhelmed. Nonetheless, all of us agreed that we would return...the food is very special!

I have always been drawn to the different or strange. In picking restaurants , this can be exhilarating or traumatic..... it is rarely in the middle. So when I heard about an " African " restaurant, my imagination was piqued. The decor was not like any part of Africa that I had ever travelled to and the smells emanating from... More

This cafe combines ingredients we would never have imagined! Smoky, spicy, fresh dishes! Chicken, fresh fish, vegetarian options. We both had sandwiches...a jerk chicken sandwich, and the veggie sandwich. They're served on a thick pita like bread and full of flavor. Sweet potato fries were delectable! Had to take half of the food home...generous servings, too good to leave.

To be fair, we ate in the late afternoon - an off time, I suppose. The wait staff were eating together in another room and we did feel that we were a bother to them. I ordered the beef kabobs and they were incredible. The pomegranate sauce was a nice surprise. My wife had the jerk chicken. The plantains that... More

The food is good --combination of African / Caribbean. His cookbook is fascinating. This is a man who came with little and made a go of his restaurant and is now an example in his old country and this one. Now also has a store stocked with African crafts and some spices just down the street from the restaurant. Well... More

Jambo offers some of the best food in Santa Fe. The lanb sandwich is specially tasty! A local favorite and a great place to bring out of town guests.

When I moved here I drove this place a lot. It's in a strip mall and has a large neon sign in the shape of Africa out front. Not exactly what you'd expect in Santa Fe. It also happens to be next to a hardware store I frequent and one day around lunch time I said" what the heck". Food... More

Jambo Cafe is amazing. My wife and I are regulars there - it's our favorite place to eat in Santa Fe. Interesting atmosphere, intriguing staff and the chef is fabulous. Try the cinnamon dusted plantains and the goat stew if you are adventurous. And order a Tusk Lager to go with it. The fusion of African and Caribbean work well... More

Love this place offering delicious African-Carribbean Cuisine. Love the Jerk Chicken Wings and the Plantain Crab cakes and the Coconut Tiger Shrimp. Make sure you save some room for the dessert at the end, I had the Jamaican Rum and Pecan Pie.

Good is ok, nothing special, pricey. Ordered on one visit "spicy lamb", completely void of any spices, very bland. On other visit had fish. Again? It was passable but not worth the price.
