My family an I enjoyed a wonderful Sunday brunch, at the colonial room restaurant. The gourmet buffet was delicious. To top of our wonderful visit, our wonderful food was accompanied by beautiful classical guitar music, played by Mr. Fernando Santa Fe. We absolutely loved his music and definitely will be coming back to here him play.

Our family from Mexico city came to visit us two months ago, we decided to take them to one of the most historic and famous hotels in San Antonio "The Menger Hotel". Sunday branch at the Colonial Room was a wonderful experience, we were very pleased in every aspect, food, service and atmosphere. Kids loved the homemade waffles and mango... More

The historic hotel is beautiful. The food and service in the Colonial Room was excellent. Our surprise was the music of classic guitarist Fernando Santa Fe. Thank you for a wonderful evening in San Antonio.

Guitar does make the difference...When was the last time a "potato" caught my eye, even more, my taste buds, still better my main course meal. At The Menger Hotel Restaurant. This delicious potato they offer at a spoonful at a time with skin, while with my significant other and the stimulating of the mind from a well calibrated guitar, Mr.... More

I was really excited to try their dessert menu. I ordered the creme burlee, if anyone has had it, you know the sugar is suppose to be toasted. Well have was. I receive a glass of water from a stained...or at least I hope it was pitcher. The place looks nice, because it's old. The thing I didn't like is... More

If you are looking for a good brunch with wonderful entertainment, the Colonial Room is a perfect match. My wife and I have been there a couple of times. The food is great, the service is excellent, the place is beautiful but more over, the atmosphere created by the guitarist makes this place a must if you are visiting San... More

On our vacation, we made reservations to stay at The Menger Hotel. After the hotel gave us a 20% discount card for their restaurant, we decided to give it a try. We were pleasantly surprised with this place. Our server Sigrid was very friendly, courteous and checked on us frequently. She made great recommendations which we followed. My wife and... More

While at a conference, I wanted to find a nice spot for lunch for my states attendees. I checked what was within walking distance on TripAdvisor and found this place. We made a reservation for our group of 12. They were ready for us (once we found the restaurant inside the hotel). We all ended up simply ordering the buffet.... More

Good food, just a little pricey. It had to be one of the most beautiful places in the hotel. The staff was very nice, some a litle slow, but it is fine dining after all.

Description
Built as an addition to the original hotel and later remodeled by San Antonio architect Atlee B. Ayres in 1912, the Colonial Room Restaurant reflects the prevailing neoclassical style of its time. Decades of elaborate balls and parties have been hosted in this room.Among the celebrities who have dined here are Presidents Grant and McKinley, Robert E. Lee, and French actress Sarah Bernhardt. The Colonial Room Restaurant's famous mango ice cream was served at both of President Clinton’s inaugurations. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, the Colonial Room Restaurant features a fabulous noontime brunch and traditional entrees such as prime rib au jus and lamb shank with linguini. Don't miss the popular Sunday brunch buffet, which tastes even better at a table in the garden courtyard.
