Good basic food at low prices. As if time stood still. Breakfast was good, eggs and home fries fresh and filling. Good coffee, and a very homey feel. Great for family meals. Everyone is friendly, waitresses couldn't be nicer. All in all a,good place for breakfast or a quick lunch. Near everything, very accessible.

This is the place for lunch in San Antonio. Old school awesomeness. Lunch was delicious, super cheap, and the service was friendly and attentive. We will return.

This was some of the best breakfast I EVER had! The biscuits where so light and great! The staff was awsome! Very old place that has the original floors. Alot of history here. The jam for the biscuits, wow! The rest of the breakfast was great also. I really wanted to try the cow tongue, but, it was too early.... More

The atmosphere inside is really cool. The food is ok but not as good as they say in other reviews. We were there for breakfast, the bacons were so overcooked, they were tasting a little carbonized. We also got encouraged ( I don't want to say forced...) by the waitress to give more receipt (and she still didn't seem so... More

Ate here twice during my last trip. Good Reuben, good German food overall. Folks in our group tried just about everything on the menu, and everyone enjoyed their food. Price is a little high for a Deli, but worth it. Service was good.

Lunch time and we met in this quaint place that has nostalgia. The root beer was good and very sweet but worth the taste. I had the split pea soup - delicious. Great service and good atmosphere.

We had a great, late lunch here. Both of us had the Rueben sandwiches, hot potato salad, the incomparable root beer, and shared the house-special cheese cake. Everything was excellent, the staff were all friendly. I'll have to come back for the bread pudding!

My wife and I met another couple there. We had eaten a late breakfast and were not going to order. We were told that the food (sandwiches) were great. We ordered a Reuben and split it. It was an excellent sandwich. Will definitely go there again.

My wife and I ate breakfast here. It's very good and a great traditional breakfast. Service was good, food was good, and it's located in a very neat old building. You can't go wrong if you want to start your day here with a hearty breakfast.
