If you're seeking authentic Japanese cuisine in Tucson, Yoshimatsu is THE place. I always go for the "Chirashi", a bed of sushi rice topped with a variety of sashimi. Master Chef Taka, creates an artfully arranged dish of very fresh fish that is truly the best, hands down!

We ordered a variety. Teriyaki salmon, sashimi salmon Don, soft she'll crab. The sashimi cuts were weird. Too big, thick and not at all what they should be. The flavor was not great either. Not fishy but lacked completely.... And slimy.Truly a disappointment. Won't go back

Four of us went to Yoshimatsu on a Saturday night. The place was busy and customers were waiting to be seated. The menu provided a full array of Japanese food choices so there should be something for everyone--whether sushi, tempura or noodles. In order to experience a wide selection of tastes, I ordered a special Bento Box offering that met... More

This Japanese restaurant has move across the street from where they were. I like this new location better. The food is very good, and always fresh. The salads and the sashimi, sushi, and rolls are delicious.

Met family here for dinner. We enjoyed the vegetarian rolls and the fish nigiri. Hubby and I shared the seafood udon bowl. There were excellent vegan options for both an eight year old (tofu rice bowl) and an adult (tofu ramen bowl). Everyone left happy and satisfied.

This place is a little expensive, it's a little slow, and it's not that fancy. This restaurant has a lot of character, if you are an anime fan, or Japanese film fan, they have collectors memorabilia all over the whole restaurant on display. I really like getting the Bento, but the sushi is also amazing. They have a small sushi... More

My husband and I came to this place searching for delicious Japanese in Tucson. We come from San Diego so we've had some delish sushi to compare it to. We were so happy with this place and have come back many times. My husband loves Udon, so gets his fix here (and loves it). He's also very satisfied with the... More

I lived in Japan for many years and can safely claim to know Japanese food well. Since moving to the U.S., I have accepted the fact that I should lower my expectations of Japanese restaurants. I have been to a few Japanese restaurants here and some of them were good enough. I had high hopes for Yoshimatsu but came out... More

Visited with family, my first ever Bento Box! What a treat, a gorgeous place to eat with a buzzing vibe. You can even buy cute Japanese memorabilia in the shop. Really great place and the Kara Age Bento is to die for.
