The food here is OK, but nothing special. The outside looks shabby, and it doesn't get better inside... old and dark. Restroom is needing some renovations, as the sink is about to fall off the wall. She got our order wrong and didn't even offer to fix it when I commented that I couldn't eat it. I would not go... More

My go to restaurant for Sonora style food. Quaint but simple place. The other restaurant down the street is always busy. When I don't want to wait I go here. I would highly recommend to everyone.

We have been coming to ELTorero for as long as I can remember, in fact I recall the the entrance being the door on the north wall when it was a bar. I reminded Brad the owner of it and he looked at me saying you are old, lol. Anyway back to the restaurant, food and the staff were always... More

Great authentic Mexican food - the 2+2 for lunch can't be beat. Salsa is so wonderful I could drink it - the enchilada sauce is totally out of this world. Been going there for 15 years and still may favorite for the "real deal" Mexican food.

I have been going to El Torero since 1979, and it used to be one of Tucson's best family-friendly Mexican restaurants and one of my favorites. Sadly, after my last visit in Sept. and my visit today, today will be my last visit. The salsa was watery, with no chunks of tomato or peppers, shrimp is no longer available even... More

Nailbanger Here Again:I not sure where to begin. After reviewing other reviews ,I was expecting Service to be non existent and Excellent Food. Well I was right about the Service it was seat yourself and we will check on you when I get around to it.The place was filthy and there was very little decor. Table and chairs out dated,... More

Sorry about that I don't speak Spanish but I do speak well about the enchiladas at El Torero. My wife and I returned to Tucson after 10 years away and the top of the list to revisit in the old pueblo was actually in the City of South Tucson. Meagan and Shorty have been the waitresses( it is rumored )... More

This restaurant is in a back street area away from the "Famous" Mexican Restaurants on South 4th Ave. The outside isn't much to look at, but the food is really great. Tacos just like mom's.
