Had these at my nephews graduation party. So of course the next time I was in town we had to go there.. While I cannot eat the bun they work just fine with the corn tortilla. Cooked to perfection! Don't miss this.

I used to live in Tucson and love going back. I miss the Sonoran dogs they have here - deliciously wrapped in bacon, tucked into a special bun and covered with beans and toppings. Yum!!! Decided to only have 1 dog and a Chico (small) carne asada burrito. Both were delicious. Nice condiment bar with hot peppers, pickled onions, several... More

Was briefly in Tuscon and was having a taco craving. Stopped by here due to the rating. Glad I did. I had three simple street tacos with asada on corn tortillas. They were amazing. Thehave a salsa bar with all kinds of extras like pico, gree and red salsa, cilantro, roasted peppers and more. They have a simple menu but... More

The bacon wrapped hot dogs are delicious and the reason that I go to this restaurant. The hot dog buns are baked fresh at the restaurant's bakery and shaped to perfectly nestle the dogs! There is a condiment bar that has roasted jalapeños and salsas. This is the best Mexican hot dog in Tucson.

I lived in Sonora, Mexico for a while and got SPOILED by the amazing carne asada and street dogs. Years later I still dream about finding a place that comes close to the original and I have Finally found THE PLACE! Come with a big appetite--the portions are generous and sooo tasty! Brought me back to my Mexico days in... More

I had been to El Guero Canelo several times with large groups. They have fast service placing your order at the walk up window and picking up your order at another window. They have plenty of seating for large groups and definitely quick service is a plus for a large group. Typical old Mexico tacos is what we get. There... More

My husband had one food request during our Tucson visit, a Sonoran Dog. A hot dog? Really? Really. Absolutely fantastic. After a week of subpar hotel food this was a treat. What a fun little concept. The hot dogs are delicious and all the extra toppings just add to the experience. The bacon wrapped hotdog and the subtly sweet roll... More

We love El Guero Canelo so much we came here twice on our trip! The Sonoran Dog a must. Hot dog wrapped in bacon and topped with grilled onion, tomatoes, beans, mustard and mayo in the softest bun! The Sammy has two franks. The condiment bar really put everything up a notch. Fresh cucumber slices, jalapenos, salsas, etc. We topped... More

We had to try a famous Sonoran Hot Dog and this was the place to go from what we had read in 500 Things to Eat by the Sterns. The hot dog was fine, a dining experience - defiinitely better than one we had tried at a truck at the 4th Ave Spring Street Fair - lots of choices of... More

I don't get here all that often, but El Guero is a scene in itself. Offering perhaps the shortest menu in town, with a walk-up oder window and an adjacent window for order pick-up -- "Number 121...NUMBER 121!!" -- it's about as basic an eatery as could be. But the food...well, the food is just so much better than you... More
