Well, I really wanted to love this retro spot, in business since 1963, but despite the warm welcome and quiet, dated ambiance the food was just awful. I can't stress enough how delightful our hosts and server were, however, there is no excuse for serving old food. I don't generally mind rolling with the seniors or watching Jeapordy and "The... The Town House used to be located on Central one block west of Montclair. It was known for good food, well prepared and I'm a friendly environment. That place closer some time ago. It has now reopened on Central just east of Wyoming. The firmer chef is now chef owner. The ambience is classic Rt 66 restaurant/ road house. It... More

We called ahead as we were a party of 10 and on arrival were shown to a beautifully laid table apart from the rest of the dining room. We were greeted as if we were old returning friends by our server Craig. He showed us every courtesy and all requests were handled with ease. For example, we requested separate checks... More

We are locals and like to try new places in town. We decided a nice steak before my hub left on a week long trip. All the reviews are right about not being dissuaded by the outside, it is lovely on the inside with fine amenities. The complimentary appetizer (all Greek themed) is yummy and just right for two. The... More

My family has enjoyed having dinner here for years. The family that owns and operates it is wonderful. You always feel welcomed. While the wait for food may be a bit longer than at a chain place, it is always tasty. The Greek dishes are my favorites. My husband always gets the fried catfish with extra hush puppies. And the... This was our first visit since they moved the location. The last time I took my mom to this place we had outstanding lamb shish kabobs. Although I was disappointed to see they no longer serve this dish I was willing to try it again. I read mixed reviews but wanted a local, non-chain place that served good steak. The... More

Great food. Think 1963 atmosphere-- plus a big screen tv in the middle of the dining room. The food is great but its a weird place. A little pricey for food, but booze is cheaper. Family run.... Not glitzy -- a crudely hand drawn sign in a paper placemat is stuck to the front door saying no coupons, etc. no... More

The Townhouse Restaurant and Lounge originally opened in 1963 at 3911 Central Ave NE.Known as having “The Best Prime Rib & Steaks in Albuquerque”, the restaurant has a fantastic Private Dining Room, with a wonderful view of the Sandia Mountains; great for holding large parties or for a quiet dinner and a glass of wine after work. Our menu features an array of in-house, hand cut Chops, Steak, and Seafood. Inside is a warm, candlelit dining room which is perfect for any sort of occasion, whether it is fun and festive or intimate. After a five-year hiatus, we are back as The Original Town House Dining Room, located at 9018 Central Ave SE...just east of our original location. Same great food that made the Town House an ABQ main stay.
